2026 BYD Da Tang EV Full Walkaround
The 2026 BYD Da Tang, officially known as the Great Tang, is an all-new flagship full-size electric SUV positioned above the standard Tang in BYD's lineup. Introduced on 17 June 2026, it combines premium luxury with cutting-edge EV technology at a starting price of just 239,900 yuan (approximately $35,500 USD). Riding on a massive 3,130 mm wheelbase and measuring 5,263 mm long, the Da Tang offers a spacious seven-seat 2+2+3 cabin while setting a new industry benchmark with a maximum CLTC driving range of up to 950 km in its long-range rear-wheel-drive version.
The Da Tang is available in three configurations, all built on an advanced 1,000V high-voltage architecture. The entry-level rear-wheel-drive model features a 105.79 kWh Blade Battery, producing 300 kW (402 hp) and delivering an 800 km CLTC range. A larger 130.15 kWh battery powers both the long-range RWD model, which generates 370 kW (496 hp) and achieves a class-leading 950 km range, and the flagship all-wheel-drive version that produces an impressive 585 kW (784 hp), accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.9 seconds, and offers an 850 km range. BYD's latest 10C flash-charging technology allows the battery to recharge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and reach 97% in approximately nine minutes under ideal charging conditions.
Luxury and innovation define the interior, which features a next-generation 3nm smart cockpit processor, a large floating infotainment display, a dedicated passenger screen, and a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted entertainment display for rear occupants. Four Zero-Gravity airline-style seats with heating, cooling, and massage functions, an onboard refrigerator, and a 27-speaker Devialet 7.1.4 premium audio system elevate passenger comfort. Advanced chassis technologies include the DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension, real-time road preview, and an advanced rear-wheel steering system capable of up to 14 degrees, reducing the turning circle to just 5.2 metres while enabling Crab Walk functionality. The flagship SUV also comes equipped with BYD's latest God's Eye 5.0 intelligent driving system, utilizing a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor for advanced urban and highway assisted driving.
