BOSTON, MA – Sullivan’s Castle Island, better known as Sully’s, has been the epitome of summer bliss in South Boston since 1951. Right by Castle Island’s historic Fort Independence, hungry crowds treasure the shack’s golden–brown clam strips, New England–style lobster rolls, and crinkle-cut fries, shooing away the equally peckish seagulls circling the harbor. Year after year, its spring reopening has been the harbinger of good days to come. That’s why we’re honoring it with a 2025 America’s Classics Award presented by Heinz.
