Kalaya in Philadelphia, helmed by James Beard Award winner and chef Chutatip “Nok” Suntaranon, is up for a 2026 James Beard Award in the Outstanding Restaurant category. Suntaranon named the restaurant after her mother, whose spirit, work ethic, and Southern Thai cooking reflects the hospitality, culture, and dining experience at Kalaya.
