welcome to the third instalment of my 2021 mep parts! this time, there will be some slower, maybe even sadder crossovers. are there any of these you like in particular? any pairings you'd like to see more or even a whole video of?
info from part 1:
2021 was a slow vidding year for me bc life has been busybusybusy (i've graduated uni though, so yay?) – but as usual, the bulk of my vidding was for mep parts, mostly for my beloved @DarkStarStudios . since this channel has been suffering from a mild case of slow death due to "the every day" and further exceptional circumstances, i don't want to keep you in the dark about what has been happening behind the scenes.
alas, the collection of mep parts hath become bigge. over half an hour, in fact. so i will be splitting it for (hopefully) your enjoyment and uploading it over the course of a week. some videos are longer, some shorter, since i tried to group the parts together by theme, more or less. other than that, no particular order except maybe slightly backwards chronologically. if you find typos or missed numbers, please keep them as a new year's present :D

elly requested a vidlet, and one of the themes she proposed was the medieval romance of roswall & lillian with this fancast & song - which...is such a genius combination, serious galaxy brain - and i tried my best with it. reading about these two made me really fall in love with them – the combination of fairytale/folklore motifs and great romance with, pardon me, the best fucking tropes.
because of, well, footage, and also the time constraint of a vidlet, i took an approach that diverges slightly from the story. instead of portraying the entire plot (see below), i picked out the bit where those two would meet, and expanded on it. i planned on including a bit more of a fairytale-like aesthetic, hence the couple of clips in the beginning, but, uh. lets say i needed every second for the actual story :D

› the story (summarised very crudely) :
When Roswall, a prince, is exiled by his father, the steward accompanying him betrays and robs him, taking his identity. Roswall, penniless and alone, finds himself in another kingdom, where he is housed and schooled by kind people. He distinguishes himself and is taken into the Kings services, where he meets the princess – Lillian. They fall in love.
Things arent so easy, though, since Lillian is engaged to another prince, who is revealed to be the steward. A tournament is held in honour of her approaching marriage and Roswall enters anonymously. Knights from his own kingdom identify the steward as a liar and announce that Roswall is their Kings true son. (Theres a whole thing about them aiding him before the tournament, but that just didnt fit.)
Roswall tells the King his story, and they all live happily ever after. Except for the steward. He dead.
› what is vidders united?
vidders united is a project where vidders could offer up something (colourings, videos, scene packs...) in exchange for a donation to the BLM movement/a charity related to BLM. the whole project raised over $12,000 for the cause !
(i offered several videos, a collab, and colourings. frankly, i am still absolutely floored that not only did someone take the opportunity at all, but every opportunity i offered to request a vid/let was taken. every single one. and there was a small bidding race in the last hour of the project. im?? thank you, everyone.
thankfully, the deadline was extended to november 30, which frankly just saved my life. but yeah - still a lot of videos to come, so stay tuned!)

our studio is hosting another 24h vidding challenge today and the next couple of days, and i’ve decided to participate! today’s prompts included enemies to lovers‘ and while i took my liberties with the details, it was my starting point. beyond that it was just well, let’s combine two of my favourite characters on tv right now whose scenes i know well enough to vid them in one day“.
what you can expect from this: two beautiful faces.
what you shouldnt expect: a coherent plot or any sort of chronological order.
the basic idea: amena is cintran royalty, one or two generations before calanthe. born during the ecplipse, she is one of the princesses stregobor hunts down. she survives his horrific experiments, but remains his prisoner until an encounter with geralt sets her free. she’s a powerful witch, so calanthe turns her away despite knowing what she went through and despite them being family. malice drives her – she swears to kill stregobor and curses calanthe. over the years, however, she turns away from that path, and her relationship with geralt develops into something genuine. shortly before the attack on cintra, they are imprisoned there. when nilfgaard destroys the city and she joins the mages in the battle of sodden hill, she has to wonder whether it was her curse that brought this destruction upon her home.
(please don’t kill me over timelines, i followed the coward’s path of convenience.)
(the colours of the manips matched up so nicely, adding this colouring made my heart bleed. but it adds such a wonderful atmosphere, i couldn’t resist.)

also another word. this is the second volume of one of the 666+ subs meps, and ?? ive since reached 1k ?? one ? thousand ? subscribers ?? im not sure yet what i can do to thank you for that – first i want to finish the things i promised last time. (theres still the second ypiv and one promo missing - beautiful crime vol.1 is already finished and will probably be uploaded this week, and vol.2 is nearly done :))

thea, i’m so impressed by your skills and storytelling and aesthetics and the sheer creative force of you, so this was scary. (my first attempt was to use some of your ocs, but my time unfortunately wasn’t enough for the series i didn’t know…)

in the search of darker powers, the king (jrm) is willing to even sacrifice his illegitimate daughter (yen) and her mother - and instead brings a curse upon his family and his land, transforming himself and his children. his son (lorenzo), desperate for his love, tries to please his father despite the darkness the king caused him. meanwhile, the queen sees what her husband has become, and sends her loyal knight (lan) away with yennefer. the queen dies. the king grows ever more paranoid. the prince’s wife sees the evil and tries to protect her husband from it.
meanwhile, yen and lan find refuge with her half-sister (naya) and some friends. she knows how dangerous her powers are now, and that the king is to blame. even though her half-brother is hunting her, she tries to join forces with him.
