The thirteenth installment in 2016 for Hallmark's Singing Snowmen/Jingle Pals collection was the Twinkling Sleigh Ride, with snowmen who sing an altered lyrics version of Here We Come A-Wassailing.
The unlucky number 13, huh? Sounds about right - this is one I can't decide upon how I feel. On one hand, I think it's my favorite one with the kid in it. The sleigh looks nice with great detail on the sides, the kid doesn't go overboard and try to be all cutesy, the motion is a little different (especially when compared to 2015, 2017, and 2018)... but it also just feels off. This is the only entry with no snowy ground, which definitely breaks some kind of format, plus that blue light is literally the only blue that has ever appeared in the series - ever. The song's lyrics and tune are kind of forgettable but also kind of catchy? They sing about a light show but there's only three small lights on it? It's hard to find, too, with one incident with a seller I bought it from who sent out three of them that never made it to my house before finding another one eventually online. I don't know, it's kind of an enigma to me. Personally, its one of my more favorite of the modern ones, and I'd put it ahead of 2015, 2017, 2018, and even 2014, but just barely. Easily the most forgettable and bizarre entry, but not quite as much of a letdown as some of the other recent ones to me.
