Father and chick running on the beach at Deer Lake State Park, Florida on May 28, 2017. Both are banded Snowy Plovers (SNPL) because they are a threatened species. The adult is B:S//RK. The chick or fledgling is S//KR:WK//. The colored band IDs are how Audubon and park service people know this is one of the three successful fledges in Panhandle State Parks.
