19th VFS Electric Aircraft Symposium Wrap Up, Tom Perkowski, Apex View & Kenneth Swartz, VFS
Tom Perkowski of Apex View interviews Kenneth Swartz who organized the 19th annual Electric Aircraft Symposium for the Vertical Flight Society at the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh on the weekend before EAA AirVenture, the world's largest aviation event.
In 2006, the CAFE Foundation held the first Electric Aircraft Symposium in Santa Rosa, California which was the world's first technical conference on electric flight. In 2014, the Vertical Flight Society (then the American Helicopter Society) held the world's first symposium on electric VTOL aircraft.
VFS partnered with the CAFE Foundation to sponsor the Electric Aircraft Symposium in 2018 and took over the management of the annual event during COVID 19.
CAFE Foundation Electric Aircraft Symposium and the Vertical Flight Society eVTOL Symposium where the first events in the world of their kind and important catalysts in the creation of today's Advanced Air Mobility industry.
The financial proceeds from both events support Advanced Air Mobility research and STEM education.
