In this video we’ll take a deep look at Goof Around Golf, one of the original 1980 Tomy Sports Set releases. This one might be the cleverest of the early lunchbox style sets because the course is modular. You can actually rearrange the holes, hazards, and fairways into different layouts while your tiny wind up golfer stumbles around trying to sink the shot.
We’ll go through the original instructions, the course mechanics, the hazards, the packaging, and why the game becomes strangely satisfying once you start learning how much power to give the little golfer. It’s part miniature golf, part chaos experiment, and somehow still really fun nearly fifty years later.
