This movement was destroyed by the foam rubber they put inside the clock box to soften the tune. Sometimes when people get older, they are bothered with any kind of noise. So this is what I think happened to this clock. In this video I do use my home made Spring Winder, Howard Feed-N-Wax. Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
