John Swinfield met David Hirschfeld, a man who has a most interesting and tranquil way of commuting from his home in Teddington to Raven's Ait (near Surbiton) and back.
Mr Hirschfeld does so with the use of his 14ft kayak, to serenely make the daily four-mile commute up and down the River Thames.
