Here we have a 1969 Bally Op Pop Pop pinball machine in action. It's swingin' and hip with all kinds of 60's artwork and Bally mushroom bumpers and zipper flippers. No pop bumpers, in spite of the name of the game, which is ironic, don'cha think?
This game isn't as terrible as it looks, although it's certainly a far cry from typical 70's EM's and even farther from 80's solid state machines. Check out that HUGE flipper gap along with the ONE mushroom bumper to close the flippers and THREE to open them right back up again.
The key to big points is hitting that red mushroom to light the 100 point buttons in the bagatelle section and then hit that section over and over to gather up the bonus. When the bonus is maxed out, it lights the outlanes for an extra ball. The saucer, when maxed, is big points but it's a drain monster also, so be careful. What's interesting is that the bonus is only collected via the outlanes and only when lit, not when losing the ball down the middle.
Games last a very short period of time and anything over 2k points is pretty decent. Worth a flip or two and interesting for being a 60's single player Bally, which are fairly uncommon.
This game was designed by Ted Zale with artwork by the king of the pointy people, Christian Marche. See more about this game here:
