Here is a fascinating glimpse into a typical day of training for Alain Calmat back in 1963. At that time he was already twice the European Champion and World silver medallist. He went on to win Olympic silver in Innsbruck in 1964 and finally claimed the world title a year later in Colorado Springs before retiring.
