Juan Manuel Fangio, driving for Mercedes, won the 1955 Italian Grand Prix. The victory secured his third World Championship title and was part of a Mercedes 1–2 finish, with teammate Piero Taruffi taking second place.
The race was the final event of a shortened 1955 season, as several races were canceled following the Le Mans disaster. It also marked the last Formula One Grand Prix for the Mercedes team until its return in 2010. The event was held on a newly constructed combined road and banked oval circuit at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
