Ok we’re back to it – the upgrade begins. Project halloumi since the new plate material glows like a freshly cut bar of the magical cheese. I have made design changes to all the plates which should dramatically improve the previous machine performance and build – you can find these in some of the previous videos plus I end this video with some more changed in Fusion 360.

In this video I test the material by cutting out a new plate for the z axis top motor section with a mount for the proximity sensor. I am using 12mm Copolymer Acetal and its price was pretty competitive compared to aluminium. I am thinking about improving the rigidity of the machine without having to spend a week cutting out parts from Aluminium.
