In Iceland there are thirteen Santas
But still only one baby Jesus
You’d think the church might add a few more of Him
It’d probably help with believers

Thirteen Santas, one baby Jesus
That’s the part I can’t ignore
All I want for Christmas this year
Is twelve Jesuses more

I guess there are three sides of God
In the Holy Trinity
So make four sets of those, that’s twelve right there
That feels close enough to me

I accept what we’ve got as it is
Don’t think that I’m complaining
Most places have one Santa, one baby Jesus
So I’m really just explaining

But if you lived here in Iceland
Where the balance feels askew
You might start asking the same kind of questions
I’m asking you

I know there are religions
With way more gods than this
But I’m not looking to convert at all
So please don’t take offense
I just want Santas and Jesuses
To even out somehow
Just for the Christmas season
That’s all I’m asking now
