From Joe Offer's collection of songs mainly taken from the BBC programme, "Singing Together", the footnote suggest the following:
Identified as 'Traditional Tune'. This tune is also known as 'Rakes of Marlow' and 'Rakes of Mallow'. The source of the lyrics is not given.
However, Singing Together (1967) states "words by A H Body". Other songs have been set to the tune: see Bodleian, Harding B 40(11) for the words more usually associated with it, i.e. "The Rakes of Mallow" which I uploaded 13 years ago: youtu.be/T5PZt4oB6Ng?si=Qog8IexQaCqoHvIE
