I only discovered this beautiful song on 27th March when an autoharp accompanied version played by Alan Robertson was posted on the Facebook Autoharp Group page.
I fell in love with the song immediately and was determined to do my own version but have been delayed from doing so when I was hospitalized on Easter Saturday suffering from anemia.
The cause of this problem was found with a gastroscopy, (a not very pleasant procedure when a small camera is fed down the oesophagus into the stomach and through to the duodenum where they discovered that I have an ulcer which must have been seeping blood for some time.)
Happily, now the cause is known and my medication has been adjusted accordingly, I have returned home, today being my first full day out of hospital. I have taken the opportunity to pick up my 12-string to make this recording.
The song was written by Mary Chapin Carpenter and tells her own story relating to the astronomical phenomenon, Halley's Comet which passes by our planet once every seventy-six years.
