Player Owned Housing has returned to the centre of RuneScape with the release of 120 Construction. The question is no longer what players can build, but whether the new system gives them a meaningful reason to come home.
This week, we compare our first houses, examine the balance between utility and customization, and ask who the reworked POH is ultimately designed for. Does the portal nexus, spirit tree, fairy ring, jewel box, potion cauldron, and other new furniture make the house useful enough to visit, or has modern RuneScape already solved most of those problems elsewhere?
We also discuss the end of traditional build-and-destroy Construction training, the economic role of the skill, the prospects for house parties and social spaces, and the addition of damaged artefact storage.
