It showed 12 volts unplugged — and zero volts plugged in.
This is a classic example of why unloaded voltage tests lie and why voltage drop testing must be done with the circuit loaded. The fuel pump wasn’t the problem. The circuit was.
If you’re diagnosing by unplugging components and calling it “good,” this will fool you every time.
