Day 7: Hufflepuff Loyalty
It wouldn't be Christmas without some Potter love, right? The next four days are going to be magical, because the colorings are inspired by Harry Potter. You'll get four colorings inspired by the four Hogwarts houses. Today is Hufflepuff, and doesn't this just scream Hufflepuff? I like the vintage feel, the warmness, and it's definitely got that black and yellow theme going on. Show some love to those loyal badgers.

A little disclaimer: these colorings were made in Premiere Pro and there are some minor difference between the two. However, they are relatively similar between the two, however, please don't be surprised if there is a slight difference between what you see here and the video.

-the colorings were made in Premiere Pro CC 2020 and Sony Vegas 17 - I have converted the Sony Vegas file to the 13 version, however, if you need it lower I have provided a link to a helpful video in the Google Doc Instructions. Premiere Users can download the preset - so long as you have a version of Premiere that has Lumetri Color, you should be able to use these colorings
-What are ".cube" files? These cube files are the coloring - they're also called Color Lookup Tables - essentially it's another way to save a coloring. Hence the colorings looks similar in Premiere and Vegas, but not completely as I used different process to achieve the same effects due to differences between the programs.
I have made some Google Docs explaining how to download and use the colorings - if you have questions after reading the Google Docs, feel free to leave a comment with questions!

So, Im one of the hosts for the Fan Editors Advent Calendar, and we ran into a bit of an issue the last couple of days. So, Im reuploading this video to act as a fill-in for day 9, and boy am I happy to be reuploading this particular edit!
I absolutely loved making this video. It has got to be one of my favorite HP videos that Ive ever made. Its just fun - the timing was fun, getting to relive iconic moments. Im so happy that I still have this edit in my collection of videos.
Harry Potter has been such a huge part of my life; its gotten me through so many ups and downs. Ive been rereading the books, because I needed an escape the last several months. So, I turned to books to rescue me from having to deal with it all. Its been making me laugh and smile as I lose myself into a good story. While my situation hasnt really been getting any better, the books and movies and some good friends have been there to help me pull through.
So, if youre going through something hard this Christmas Season, my hope is that you can loose yourself in this video and go back to Hogwarts. Go back home to some place safe. As JK Rowling put it, Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.
We defended the stone.
We found the chamber.
We rescued the prisoner.
We were chosen by the goblet.

Here is collab two - I dont know what drew me to this song, but I really fell in love with this song a couple of months ago and I just felt like I really needed a fun pick me up kind of edit for my birthday.

7. Id like to keep the style more simple. So no fancy transitions or overlays extending over the whole part. Keep it to fade in, fade out, cross dissolves, soft flashes and utilizing the overlays Ive provided, or similar overlays you have, to help with transitions.
8. Please leave 1 second of footage before and after the music, so I can put in transitions between parts.

So, ClariGal and myself participated in a collab and we did these awesome Crossovers. We decided to mash our parts together, because we really wanted to share our parts, and give a shout out to Ruby, who hosted the collab.
I had a lot of fun with my Edward/Elena part(doesnt Elena fit for an AU Bella?). To be honest, it took me forever to find scenes, cause I know TVD, but I havent finished the series and this was ridiculously hard. But, Im happy with the outcome. ClariGals part is amazing! Like, I really enjoyed what she did and she totally nailed sad story line.

And look what we finished in time to celebrate!
Okay, to be fair, we finished this last year but never posted it.... Better late than never? XD
We decided to feature couples that either never happened or didnt actually make it to the finish line, but we love them anyway because they melt our hearts and make us cry. Sometimes, we just wish that things could turn out differently - that these couples could be happy, that they could get their happy ending because they just had such good connections. So thats what we focused on - making something that makes you fall in love with the under dogs and then cry because they just never make it.
Maybe we just like tearing out everyones hearts. Maybe we like making you feel happy at the cute moments. Maybe we like a little bit of both.
Either way , go wish @ClariGal all of the happiest of birthday wishes. Shes seriously so talented and kind; and she deserves all the best on her special day! Shes been my best friend for years, and Im so grateful to have her in my life. Some people are blessed with an epic love, but Ive been blessed with an epic friendship. Which, in my opinion, is rarer than those epic love stories. Anyone who knows ClariGal knows shes amazing - shes one of the good ones.
Also, Im honored that she decided that she wanted to share this collab with me to post - we were going to post it on our collab channel, but she liked both of the thumbnails I made and said: why dont we post it on both of our channels so both of them can get used.

Hello again! You get two uploads from me this week!
This is yet another fill-in day for the Fan Editors Advent Calendar.
Im sorry Im uploading a sad video. But, I really do love how this video turned out. I had so much fun editing this, expressing my mixed up thoughts on everything about love. Love hurts sometimes.
Sometimes its okay to just not be okay, especially when hard things happen. I feel like the last two years has been one bad thing after the next. But, you know what, Im still here! And if youre reading this, youre still here too! And you know what, were going to get through all of our hard times! Were going to do it because sometimes, thats all you can do! Keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Emotional Spiel
I made this video in response to my moms husband walking out on my mom and me. It was hard to make this video at the time, because I had so many confused and hurt feelings about the whole thing.
I wish I could say that Im doing better and that things worked out for the better, that Im not so freaking confused and lost right now.... Unfortunately, I cant say that... yet.
I hope one day I can get there.
Lifes funny, it likes to throw lots of curve balls. Not only did my Mom get divorced this year, but my Dad and Stepmom, who had been married for 19 years, also got divorced this year. I feel like with my moms husband, I didnt really know him very well(to be honest, I didnt really trust him to begin with). It hurt, but I could step back and say you know that sucked, but I can be strong through this. But my stepmom.... It just hurts so bad. Its sad to see a 19 year relationship just disappear. I feel like I lost one of my best friends. I lost the person I would call in the middle of the night because I was having problems. I lost the person I would sit and chat with about boys and school and silly things. I lost my other mom. I miss her and its so hard knowing that shes happy with a new family now...
Anyway...
Summary of everything. Im one hot mess of a person and I still dont understand anything about love and families.
Where there is great darkness, there is also greater light.
I know that there is still goodness amidst all the bad, sometimes you just have to battle through the swarm of dementors and their fog and darkness before you can see it. My good things include my religious beliefs, really loving friends and family, my cat(because hes a snugly attention seeker, especially when Im having a cry session - he knows when I need him the most), good music, Harry Potter(its my go to fandom, though its not in this video...), and playing my flute.
