Let me show you how I bought an $11,000 stay at the Conrad Bora Bora for just $2,000 without needing a credit card. Hilton regularly runs 100% bonuses when you buy points, which when combined with their 5th night free benefit on award bookings for Silver members and above, literally means you can buy the points for way less than the cash equivalent at many luxury properties. Let’s start with this Hilton Fiji Beach Resort. The cash price for 5 nights? $2,600. But a quick look at the award calendar shows us plenty of consecutive nights at 60,000 Hilton Honors points per night and knowing the fifth night is free, it’s cheaper to just buy 240,000 Hilton points for $1,200 meaning we're getting the exact same room on the exact same dates for less than half the original price and all we did was buy the points meaning you don't even need to sign up for a credit card to do this if you don't want to. And if you thought that was crazy, I bought 446,000 points for $2,230 which, when combined with the 35,000 points I had already earned on some previous stays, meant I could book 5 nights at the Conrad Bora Bora—worth nearly $12,000—for just over two grand.
