Video Description:
In the final build video we will use the controller and driver boards to build the J Design system. We will also do a little coding to achieve some awesome effects.
Project Description:
Dr. D-Flo and his team have created a robust, DIY addressable LED system that will give you complete control and endless possibilities for your personalized lighting needs. The applications of this LED system ranges from productivity to party uses. With this system, you will be able to create LED beat matched light shows as well as fun, interactive drinking games such as power hours. For productivity applications, this system provides weather notifications, allows you to set alarm clocks with a snooze button and productivity timers to keep you on top of your work. In addition, a bluetooth enabled black box with triggers and switches allows for tactile control of your lights. Doctor D-Flo and his team have created an entire YouTube series for building this projects. This tutorial welcomes DIYers of all skill levels from electrical engineers to people who have never touched a soldering iron. SMT placement, Arduino, Python, bluetooth and of course addressable LEDS are a few of the topics and technologies that will be covered in this extensive series. Enjoy!

![DIY Nixie Tube Clock Design Challenge: The Finale [Part 3 of 3]
Looking for a unique and classy technology-related gift for someone special? In the following videos Dr. D-Flo and his team launch a competition to see who can make the cheapest and classiest design for a Nixie Tube Clock. In this three-part series, the team describes their competition by laying out the rules (one of which is a $50 spending limit), combs through antique stores to find unique items, and then proceeds to design and engineer casings for these Nixie Tube Clocks. We hope you enjoy watching the competition and it gives you some great ideas for DIY gifts! Let us know in the comments who you think won!
