I would like to know what other people think when I say that this is what I think at the moment of what is happening:

The signal input side on capacitor, induces a voltage on the other side (plate) of capacitor.
In the setup in the picture the charge is pumped arround at the output side.
When I would use a higher voltage so that voltage on output side would be high enough, I could use earth grounding to light up the led's, even whitout charging the capacitor itself, just using it plate surface to have the possibility to have charge enough to light up the led('s).
I changed to 100µF capacitor instead of the 1µF but brightness didn't change much, maybe this is because earth ground would do more benefith, but with this low voltage adding earth didn't really make a difference in brightness.


I think in the past I looked at the Avramenko plug in the wrong direction, if the text above is correct then the Avramenko plug is the charge pump.


Now I have to look for the best possible output.
