The question becomes, why did GGG make POE 2 if core mapping is extremely similar to POE 1. A handful of 1 button builds that hit the whole screen that have similar clear speed.
POE 2 feels like it is just POE 1, but with less crafting mechanics, less league mechanics, less skill variety, and less movement speed.
Yes, POE 2 is better in a few ways. Graphics, campaign, and vaal orb outcomes, but that is NOT worth the 5 years of development time that has been taken away from POE 1.

In this video, I showcase what I believe to be a Back to Basics 2.0 scarab farm. The reason it is 2.0 is because you are still investing heavily into map effect and scarab nodes on the tree, but instead of base mobs dropping scarabs like in actual Back to Basics, we now kill Exiles.
Roll your maps to 120%+ scarabs or higher depending on how many map mods you can run.
I have tested other extremely high mob count map strategies and it seems like GGGs rebalancing of monster quantity has really hurt loot compared to 3.24.

In this 20 map Divination card farming showcase, I am looking to spawn 1-3 altars at the beginning of the map hoping for quantity or divination duplicate. I skip the remaining altars since roughly 50% of the map is already cleared and it is not worth the 2 seconds to read and click the altar based on my maps per hour. If the cost of the strategy increases, I will go back to selecting an option for all altars.
Unfortunately, GGG removed Defiled Cathedral, so the Mageblood card is not combined with Seven Years, which is a large nerf to this farm from last league. There are other maps that can be scryed, but I am currently unconvinced they would be substantially better than Seven Years Bad Luck in Standard League. Ask Redviles what is best if you are playing in-league.
I choose to spec into scarabs nodes on the atlas tree over Beyond because Merc scarabs currently have high value. If they fall substantially in price, I would go back to Beyond.
Lastly, It would be slightly more profitable to remove 12 atlas nodes that increase map drops and put them into scarabs.

In addition to divines, you will be killing 1k+ magic mobs per map, which drop a lot of general loot like lower currency, scarabs, and uniques. I have an EXTREMELY strict filter, so the loot is more than it appears.
Plenty mobs are kind of scary, so either having capped block or 85%+ evade is suggested.
Also, there is only a ~10% loot buff to the map per 20% deli, so doing 100% deli is NOT needed for farm to be extremely profitable.

In this video, I would guess unless more changes come from GGG, this farming strategy will be the pinnacle content you can do this league, which is Back to Basics T17 farming stacking rare mobs.
The reason I say Magic Find is Dead is because Back to Basics strategies dont have a lot of scarabs that are good, so we more or less are forced into Horned Scrab of Glittering. Since this scarabs adds 100% quantity to your character and quantity has high diminishing returns after 100%, I believe it is substantially better to go for more character power to run the maps faster than to give away a gear slot for another 10-20% quantity.
I would not consider doing this farm unless you have roughly 40 million dps as 7+ mod rares are sometimes more tanky and deadly than uber bosses.
The reason we run T17 is because they have roughly 20% more map modifier than T16s due to their special map mod pool (145-175% Quant) and there are 3 modifiers that make this farm broken.
1. Tormented Spirits - There is a mod that releases tormented spirits from rares when they get low HP. If they attach to another rare, they buff their loot sustantially. While it is nice for the ghosts to do this, I believe prioritizing faster mapping than to slowly wait for the ghosts to get to every target.
2. God Touched - There is a mod that adds a God Touched modifier to each rare. This is very strong because for each mod on a rare, the loot is exponential, so mobs going from 6 mods to 7 mods = lot more loot.
3. Rares have 2 additional modifiers - This is a mod I roll on every one of my maps because it doubles the amount of rares in a map roughly and as I said before, adding more mods to rares exponentially increase the loot.
Lastly, I run an EXTREMELY strict filter. Many people are farming T17s, but they take 15 minutes per run. I previously was also slow, but have concluded fast is good, so I hide everything roughly under 10c. I also hide unique bases that are unlikely to roll well like Gold Rings and I hide uniques that will very likely not have value like Heavy Belts and Leather Belts. While it is possible I will not loot a Headhunter or Mageblood, with these changes I cut my average map time from 7 minutes to 4 minutes, which in my opinion is worth.

5-10+ Divines per Hour in T2, T1, and T0 Uniques
2-4 Divines per Hour in Currency

Exiles: Exiles have the highest chance to drop uniques in the game and are guaranteed to be tormented, which results in 3-10 uniques each kill.
