It was pointed out to me that this will be interesting to look into and indeed it is. So thank you to that person.
There is a little bit difference with the motor setups because in those circuits we use what comes back from the coil across the coil. In this patend we're going to use what is in between 2 coils.
In this first video I wanted to see if we get the same result as with the motor switching setup because I don't have experience on this side of the story, namely in between instead of across the coil that generates the spike.
This setup is not completely like drawn in the patent because I don't have coil in series with the short cutting, this video is just to build up things and see what happens.
In this setup the ringing was at frequency of 6.7Khz.
When I calculated resonant frequency of 2.1mH and 100nF I had 10.983Khz
I don't have a third 2.1mH coil otherwise I could see what happens to the resonant frequency when I place that in series with the shortcut so I have circuit like in the patent.
