This was my test run of the Mural Belt Plus route, a big refinement of the original MB route from last year. This route's already out of date though, noticed some stuff shortly after this run that resulted in different strats being feasible, which led to removing the Ancient Forest visit, so expect another run soon. This might be the only Any% run that'll ever fight Land Shark C.
Good stuff: - Gold drops were amazing the whole run, could've skipped the final selling and would've had plenty to spare - Sai, Kesu, and Szabo went perfectly, Szabo in particular (that accidental Chest Laser skip...) - Another trademark Eat-Yeet funny moment - Perfect Rockwind Wolf Ghost fight - Insanely good OHKO on Mechataclysm - Perfect Destroy fight
Bad stuff: - 2nd try Dinoram due to a crit - Encounter with a ghost in Ancient Hospital, fast flee - 2nd try King Ghost due to being too fast and me not playing accordingly - Slow end of Dullahan fight, didn't skip Last Resort - Ku and Mai were a bit slow - An unfortunate Flying Mecha Robo spawn in the Ancient Factory, forced me to flee (I think Field Barrier might prevent this going forward?) - Very slow War Mecha Robo fights - Very slow Kelolon Grind, had to fight multiple smaller groups, mainly due to not noticing Stink had been healed - Encounter with Horned-Viper Trident, fast flee - Slow Grand Szabo - Encounter with a Skimmer in Devour Forest, fast flee - A very slow encounter with a Soyo-Soyo - One of the worst Land Shark shooting segments I've had - Really sloppy Laser Defenders with no 2-hits - Kinda slow Sentry and Dynamo fights - Got 1 Crimson Blood Rain from Pyro Dragon - Sneezing Cyclops was a bit slow - Missed MAU on Zola in Ultimate Szabo - Kinda slow Nene - Really slow end to Ultimate Nene after not getting MAU on Marumaro

Got a nice Disc 1 PB, but it all started crumbling after that Surprise Attack before Nene's Fortress, and then Jumbo happened... Ended up bleeding 5m in the final bosses, will need to figure out how to avoid that when possible. Also need to make my menus a lot better, they were pretty bad this whole run. Could have very easily been 15m or more faster, so I'll be aiming for sub 5:30 at the very least, ideally something close to 5:20. Any further than that I can't say, but a godly RTA run can definitely sub 5:10 now, which is insane.OtonyshiYT Live StreamOtonyshi2021-04-16 | ...Viva Piñata: TiP - Level 10 Speedrun in 9:31Otonyshi2021-02-03 | Well uhhh yep sub 10 is feasible alright, holy moly. Realized a higher level starter Pinata (Fudgehog or Raisant) would be worth the extra exp over getting a cutscene skip, and utilized a second controller to instantly max candiosity the Reddhott. The amount of cutscenes you skip by reaching level 10 so early more than makes up for it. Got a 10:43 just before this, glad I kept going... Not sure how to improve this route further, taking any more time off will probably be all about crazy optimization. The Taffly did fly around for a while after geting torched though, scared me for a second. Really happy with this one!Viva Piñata: TiP - Level 10 Speedrun in 11:16Otonyshi2021-01-28 | Got curious about TiP again recently, thought I'd look into things and do some offline attempts while my mic is still out of action. Was fun figuring this route out again, having to purposefully wait before triggering the Taffly cutscene in particular, to get it to stay around with the berries being present. Not a bad run, but I did mess up at the end when I realized I couldn't get a Bluebell for the Reddhott variant, so I just planted some extra seeds and hoped for the best. Sub 11 is definitely doable, I'm more curious as to whether sub 10 is even remotely feasible.Blue Dragon Any% Speedrun in 5:55:21Otonyshi2020-09-10 | New PB here: youtu.be/zNz1No04FrY Run starts at 1:20 After a huge amount of rerouting thanks to the realization that someone getting Double-Cast was actually viable, and eventually 3 party members reaching it, I managed to pull off another PB/WR exactly like the last one. I wanted to practice and derust and somehow ended up going all the way to sub 6 and then some, and with a very sub-par Disc 1 at that. The new Triple Double-Cast route is without a doubt faster and much safer than the older routes, and my final goal will now at the very least be getting sub 5:50, maybe even sub 5:40 or close to it.
As an aside, I think some frame drops happened in this recording due to the encoder overloading, but it's not that noticable.
Noteworthy time loss in Disc 1: - Second try Dinoram due to me not paying attention... - Winking Patroller was slow due to very unlucky turn order - A very slow flee in the Undersea Caverns - Fast second try King Ghost but horrible gold drop, loads of safety pickups - Compost Poo Snake shenanigans during Lazy Bear skips - Second try Heat-Wave Sai
Noteworthy time loss in Disc 2: - Sub-par (17 attempts) Black Belt grind, considering we only need 3 now - Having to fight a Kelolon separately and forgetting a menu again - Kinda slow Jumbo Mecha Robo
Noteworthy time loss in Disc 3: - Sloppy Mechat navigation - Sloppy Mechat shooting segment - Route flaw causing me to be a single medal short for final Toripo, Zola didn't get Double-Cast when intended and it slowed down the start of Primitive Cube a bitSonic 06: Radical Train (Silver) - Speedrun in 019816Otonyshi2020-07-30 | One of my favorite tracks from Sonic Riders. This is easily one of the most optimal runs I've done of Chulip and of any game for that matter, and is better than my console Any% PB in multiple ways. Outstanding luck all around, solid execution, couldn't have gone much better. Only bad part is the court sequence, but it's pretty minor. Definitely done with Any% until new skips or JP version competition comes around.

Nice run, Shadow's EotW and Solaris 1 could have been better though. Gonna implement a box telelaunch in Silver's EotW if I take it any further.
It's all you Shadow! :^)Sonic 06: Flame Core (Silver) - Speedrun in 147508Otonyshi2019-12-23 | I've somehow managed to find a, not completely, but somewhat consistent method of telelaunching off of the first box in Flame Core. While the method combined with some missed ETDs resulted in a 54s first section, it's definitely possible to get a time over 10s faster than that with an optimal launch that allows you to have the launched box be closer to the destination. In the second section, the box that originally was used for the kerfuffle launch seems to be very receptive to the same launch setup as the one in the first section. As a result, the second section is much faster than with the previous no-ETD kerfuffle method. Sub 1'30 is definitely possible, though extremely close to human perfection with the current strats.Sonic 06: Amy asserts complete Box DominanceOtonyshi2019-12-21 | In this magnificent example of symbiosis in nature, an lone Amy manages to catch a ride on a Metal Box migrating for the winter.Sonic 06: Silvers Story (Any% Emu) in 9:16Otonyshi2019-12-14 | My first emulator run (excluding the 10 minute PB before this one). Really want to do more Xenia runs in the future, but it's a bit too prone to crashing at the moment. Was an okay run overall, biggest mistake is about 10 seconds lost at MSG. The game audio is low quality due to problems with audio-visual sync with my capture card requiring that I globally delay audio if I'm in a call, and I think this was the best compromise of the options available. Sadly, an electrical problem caused my computer audio to die just before Last Story, which is luckily very close to the end of the run. It made my capture card freak out and caused the game to become more delayed than the audio unfortunately.
As a measurement of how well I feel each story went, here's each ranked out of 10: Sonic: 4/10 Silver: 7/10 Shadow: 5/10 Last: 6/10 I can definitely improve on this, and plan to in the future. It was a really fun race, though me doing Silver before Shadow did make it hard to follow exactly how well I was doing versus the others.Smones III-1: 4th Dimensional RecoveriesOtonyshi2019-06-26 | My man just ended that penguin's whole career.Super Magnetic Neo Any% in 42:25Otonyshi2019-06-20 | My first console run, and a very solid improvement over my previous times. While I made some stupid mistakes in Ancient 4 and the Ancient Boss, the only major mistakes in this run are in Future's 3 and 4, which both went terribly. I'm still really pleased with this time for now though. This attempt went pretty much perfectly: 3 hits from first batch to avoid longer attacks that start from the 4th hit, get all 4 hits from the second batch and die off of him to freeze the timer as fast as possible. The hard part is having the positioning and movement to pull it off consistently.

There's a very precise momentum-based jump you need to do off of a mummy enemy's head towards the end of the JP version, whereas you just go straight to the next platform in the other releases, saving around 2 or more seconds. Here's a comparison of the change: twitter.com/Otonyshi/status/1117214575340998661
Sub 1 minute is doable on JP, and super doable on other versions assuming the load and retry cycles are the same.
Recorded April 18th 2019Ancient 2 in 010688 - Super Magnetic NeoOtonyshi2019-06-17 | Managed to beat my super lucky 1'07 that I got in an Any% PB. I wanted to see if the slot machine goes by some sort of global timer in the level, and in both the 1'07 and this run, I went for the blue lever between 21"50 - 22"00, and the red lever between 22"25 - 22"50. Not sure if it's actually predictable, will need to test it further.
