The city has been deserted many years ago and has fallen into ruin but its importance to the people of Gondor in their fight against the dark lord Sauron has not faded. Here's your sneak peek into the lore of this major location:Annuminas, once the proud capital of the kingdom of Arnor, was founded during the second age by High King Elendil. Resting on the shores of Lake Evendim, it commanded a strategic position at the source of the Brandywine River. Kept in its treasuries was not only a Palantir, but also the infamous Sceptre of Annuminas, which later became a symbol of Aragorn's unifying rule over Gondor, Arnor, and all Men. After disaster struck near the end of the Second and beginning of the Third Age, the Dunedain population was forced to abandon the great city . Over the course of thousands of years of desertion, and after Fornost replaced it as the capital, this one mighty bastion of Arnor's influence and the legacy of High King Elendil fell into ruin, with the entire kingdom soon to share its fate...Did you enjoy this video?
