Walls of Time - The Petersens (LIVE) The Petersens 2022-11-25 | Plot twist... The Petersens covered two bluegrass songs in a row! Emmett sounds so great on "Walls of Time" and it was a fun one to throw in the shows before we switched to Christmas. Julianne was overseas as part of her last year of college, when we filmed this video.You can't get much more bluegrass than this, a song by the father of bluegrass, Bill Monroe, who created the genre. One night in the 1960s, Bill and his band were aboard their old bus "The Bluegrass Breakdown," when it lived up to its name somewhere in the middle of Kentucky. Watching the sun rise over the mountains and inspired by what he called the ancient tones (the whispering in nature), Bill and his young bandmate Peter Rowan came up with this song. I described what I wanted and in less than 24 hours, Emmett came up with this twisted version thus earning it the title "Wayfaring Stranger Gets Stranger" from mom on our chord charts. We ran through it during our last rehearsal before we drove to the studio in Nashville. A Christmas Message from The Petersens The Petersens 2021-12-24 | It's easy to get caught up in the holiday parties, movies, crazy family, and gifts, but Christmas is so much more than that. It's the celebration of our God choosing to come down and be with us. Julianne is reading a section from the Bible in Luke chapter 2.Emmett arranged his version of "Mary, Did You Know?" on the dobro and it is one of the most beautiful things we have ever heard.
