Is the premium Nexus Pro worth it? | Dart Zone Pro Mk-1.2 REVIEW OUT OF DARTS 2022-09-13 | Dart Zone has been hitting it out of the park in recent years, and there were no signs that they were resting on their laurels. Release after release, their Pro-Max offerings have been solid blasters, and they look to improve upon the hits of the year prior. That is, it seems, until the DZP Mark-1.2.Off the back of the 1.0, the 1.1, and the Nexus Pro and Max Stryker, this blaster claims pro performance and unmatched compatibility right out of the box. However, like a multitool, it can do many things poorly and very few things well. While it delivers the performance, the folding N-Strike buffer tube stock adds unnecessarily flex, and the full-length magwell leaves too much room for jams and misfeeds. Eli Wus Impulse (A Custom AEG Smart Blaster) OUT OF DARTS 2022-05-28 | While down in San Diego a few weekends ago, I met up with my buddy Eli Wu to play at some SDNC games, and to take a look at his latest builds. Enter Impulse: Eli's own Automatic Electronic Blaster (AEG/AEB). This beast is custom-built from the ground up, with CNC'd aluminum and 3D-printed parts. The nerf hobby hasn't had very many AEGs, with the Stampede and the SwarmFire being the only times the mothership tried out the concept. However, with the QWK Challenger Mk3 and the Colonel Wasp 76 coming from overseas, and Impulse in Eli's loadout, this category is seeing somewhat of a resurgence. I'm really excited for the future, and I can't wait to see what comes out next.As stated in the video. The amount of time, effort, and money involved for Eli to make this blaster means that Impulse isn't for sale, nor is it ever likely to be. REVIEW: Breaking Wind OUT OF DARTS 2022-04-30 | CYardNerf is one of those shops semi-local to us that comes up with some awesome designs; I showcased their "Second Wind" BigShock mod a few years ago. Now they've designed and built a blaster from scratch! PSA: Do Not Buy Headshot Ammo! OUT OF DARTS 2022-04-29 | Absolutely do not buy Headshot Ammo.Headshot Ammo was one of the first viable third-party alternatives to name brand rival rounds from Hasbro; I gave it a glowing review back in 2016 and even started selling it on the shop. Unfortunately, Headshot has changed, and not for the better.These new rounds bearing the Headshot name are lighter and stiffer than their older counterparts. They will wreck any flywheels they come in contact with, and we absolutely do not recommend this ammo anymore.FAQ & Corrections:-If you have any questions about products we sell on the shop, don't hesitate to shoot us an email: orders@outofdarts.com-To be clear, using Headshot rounds in any blaster -- especially flywheelers, is bound to cause problems. REVIEW: Lepus Mk2 OUT OF DARTS 2022-04-15 | All the way back in 2019, a foam-flinger in the UK known as JackRabbitNerfer designed an ultra-minimalist mag-in-grip flywheeler. It made its rounds with others in the hobby, but we were just too busy to check it out.This is our (quite belated) review of the second iteration of the Lepus: the Mk2 XT-T variant (which stands for "exposed trigger - Talon magwell"). This thing is pretty barebones, and that's not necessarily a detractor. REVIEW: ZWQ S200 Fire Rat OUT OF DARTS 2022-03-25 | There has been an explosion of short dart sidearm blasters in the last couple of years, and Injection molded releases like the DZP Mk-II have only added to the growing lineup. The ZWQ S200 Fire Rat fills an interesting niche, being a mag-in-grip design that isn't talon-compatible. However, it makes the ergonomics much more comfortable over long periods. REVIEW: D-Dart Blasters 2021 OUT OF DARTS 2021-12-30 | Back in 2019, Bullseye LLC released their Tempest blaster under the D-Dart brand. Now known as their V1, the Tempest was a fun & unique "room-clearing" flywheeler with quite a bit of mod potential.Now in late 2021 they finally released 4 of the 5 blasters they teased back in 2020: the D-Dart Pro, Twin Tornado, Cyclone, and Blizzard. Each blaster has its own quirks and drawbacks, but also a unique take on the Tempest before them. REVIEW: Worker Phoenix 2 0 (A Flywheeler Reborn) OUT OF DARTS 2021-12-24 | Earlier this year we reviewed the Worker Phoenix -- a bulky triple-stage short dart micro flywheeler. It was good for what it was, and despite its quirks, it was an easy blaster to recommend. Then in the fall Worker teased the latest version, with a Swift-style aesthetic, an included stock... and the option to give the blaster a brain.After getting it in hand, the ergonomics are much improved, the stock is comfortable, and the build quality for an injection-molded blaster is second-to-none. REVIEW: Charamile Designs Skewer by PinkDragonTuning OUT OF DARTS 2021-12-17 | 3D-Printed springers are a mainstay of the hobby, with roots all the way back to homemades made out of PVC. Now more than ever there seem to be new iterations and improvements every month. My buddy from the Bay Area, Kyle, sent me a design by Charamile Designs (AKA "Taffy"), and I couldn't wait to check it out.The Skewer remixes a similar plunger tube to the TalonClaw or Lynx, but with a T-pull prime in the back of the blaster. REVIEW: Nerf LMTD Mandalorian Phase Pulse Blaster OUT OF DARTS 2021-12-14 | Hasbro hopped on the crowdfunding bandwagon just over a year ago when they launched Hasbro Pulse, and it wouldn't be long before they set their sights on releasing Nerf products through this new avenue. Late into 2020, they announced their first limited release under the Nerf LMTD line: The Mandalorian Phase Pulse Blaster. As a fan of the Disney + series and nerf, I chose to drop the $120 to preorder this blaster and see if the LMTD line is worth the hype. Mired in delays, controversy, and poor delivery in every sense of the phrase, I can only hope the three other blasters they started preorders for will be better. REVIEW: PewTech PewPew OUT OF DARTS 2021-11-26 | A relatively unknown Swiss hobbyist Instagram page with the handle Pewte.ch came out of the woodwork earlier this year, and the blaster was unlike anything I've ever seen. The PewPew is a brushless smart blaster and an amazing feat of miniaturization. I can barely even comprehend the performance and customization packed into this thing. MOD SPOTLIGHT: DZP Mk-II Mag Extender by Chicken OUT OF DARTS 2021-11-12 | The Dart Zone Pro Mark-2 really proved how small you could make a foam blaster. With the included holster and speed loaders, it has met few injection-molded rivals. The only thing holding it back was its small internal magazine.Chicken, a new designer in the hobby space, sought to remedy that, and the results speak for themselves. This permanent mod expands the internal magazine capacity from 6 to 10, extends the small grip (one of my only complaints), and all the while appears to be relatively simple to 3D print. REVIEW: DvZ Concept Pistol (ft. Alpaca Blasters Vicuna Variant) OUT OF DARTS 2021-11-05 | First DevilZ' Nerfworks designed a prototype Flywheel-the-World-powered sidearm. That was good on its own as a proof of concept, but Scott from Alpaca Blaster Co took it a few steps further. This ultra-compact flywheeler is loads of fun to play around with, and its unique slide action is great for hobbyists and cosplayers alike.
