Today I managed to get the front of the building and the upstairs balcony portion done, including a set of really cool stairs that I am super happy with!
Follow me for next time where I'll be finishing up the interior and begin the attempts to integrate this building into the map more directly!

I tried using a voice over here, I was gonna just let the music play but I realise if you wanted that experience you can just mute and play your own stuff. I tried to make the narration informative. Lemme know if you'd prefer narration or not! Next time I might make this a 30 minute timelapse instead so I have more time to talk about the techniques used when building.
Showcase of the sound effects in my new project for Traitor Town, Santorini!
Dabbling with locational sounds, and even some room specific acoustics too. It's not super advanced, but I can achieve some immersive effects with a lot of tinkering. The seagulls get louder the higher you go, the ocean is directional, going underwater has its own sound.
I ultimately plan to have a sfx for every single building and area of the map when I'm finished. If you want to watch me build this, I'm livestreaming it daily on my twitch!
Tons of new creators on Roblox Studio have a bad habit of building using 0 stud increments. This video is going to showcase why using 0 stud increments is almost always a bad idea - and how you can save massive amounts of time in the long run by sticking to a standardised increment throughout your Roblox Studio journey.
If it's not clear enough in the video, I'd like to stress that this method of building has genuinely saved me months of time. If Archipelago was built off grid using 0 stud increments, I'd STILL be working on the first or second version, instead of having a finalised product. Considering work life balance is very important, optimising your workflow as a creative is the best way to remove the friction of getting your ideas out into the workspace.
So if you have any friends that refuse to build with 1 stud increments, send them this video. Hopefully it might just conver them to the light :P

I want to give a huge shoutout to all the really cool people who have left comments on my last video (Unions are bad for building... right? youtu.be/Ahn2P_4TDrU)
I have learned a ton from them and have made this video detailing all the new things I have learnt when it comes to making unions - Whilst also talking about ways to optimise your union usage without using blender. Hopefully this video is helpful to those who don't see the need to fit blender into their Studio workflow - keeping these principles in mind may help solve some of the problems amateur developers can have with performance in their games and studio workplaces.

I highly suggest you build along to this video, it's long for a reason! Please use the chapters as well to skip to the parts you need.
Hey all! This is part 2 of my series on meshes and unions. This tutorial is intended to show you some of the common pitfalls that can happen when trying to use blender in the first place, and I make sure to cover each step thoroughly without bogging you down in extraneous tips that don't actually help you get started in making your own meshes.
There are probably better workflows out there but this one is the simplest that I know about that gives me complete control over where vertices sit and positioning them directly on the grid. I have been using tools like extrusion and bevel for my personal models, but I don't think I'm good enough at blender to justify making a more advanced tutorial, so this one is a tutorial by a noob, for noobs.
As for why this video took so long, I've been very busy with irl stuff (I just passed my driving test, for example!) so I've barely had time nor energy to sit down and finish this - and the main reason is that voiceover Kai likes to make editing Kai hate his job. Moving forward, I'm going to be trying a different filming workflow that simplifies the edit so I don't have to spend 5x the runtime of the video just cutting out all the bad takes and mistakes I make.
Hopefully the next video I produce will come out quicker, I have some ideas on how to do it and I may even make a video on that process - but no promises! We know how bad I am at keeping them.

(Roblox Studio) (Read Desc)Kaiwala2025-03-29 | NEW FOLLOWUP VIDEO TALKING ABOUT UNION UPDATE - youtu.be/x9jg8kjH3Vs
Ever since I started building in Roblox Studio I've been told by senior members of many different communities to avoid using unions at all costs. But as a new builder, the flexibility and functionality of unions were downright hard to pass up.
Back in 2023 I finally decided to go ahead and learn blender, in order to optimise my Traitor Town map Archipelago (Unoptimised version shown at 2:56 as an example)
And the main reason why I learnt Blender was because people lagged a ton on the old copy of my map. I always knew that unions might be the culprit, but it turned out to be a bit more of a complicated problem than that. If you want to see the full story of my Archipelago optimisation journey, link to a 41 minute video on that very subject here - youtu.be/7Y-16ACmdoY
Today I decided to clear up a lot of the confusion surrounding unions based upon all that I've learnt in Roblox studio over the past 7 years. If you want a tl;dr, I personally think unions are fine to use but only in moderation and only when you know what you are doing. A lot of bad "union" building could really be fixed by just, building with parts, or changing the way you make unions in the first place.
Next week I plan on uploading a video on how to convert your old unions into meshes in blender, including a lot of different scenarios you may bump into when doing so as a beginner. So stay tuned for next weeks video!

This works because when you jump in R6 your torso is cancollide false for 1 frame - But normally the head hitbox would stop clipping, so Zyzzyva disabled the head hitbox only for the Sky Emporium, in both Adventure mode and Speedrun mode.
This technique is considered a glitch and is not allowed to be used in glitchless runs.

This skip is faster than taking the normal teleporter in basically every category, since there are no coins on that side of the world and you skip about the first half of Distorted Skies by doing this - plus it spawns you right near a lot of other collectables.
Definitely recommend learning this technique, it just involves turning left or right and "jumping" off the water as close to the killbrick as you can, to get the most distance to jump right over. Just try to avoid the spinner on the other side!

What do I say about this level? What is there to even talk about? I could give advice, or tips, or tricks - but ultimately if somebody wanted to play this I'd much rather they speak to me directly on my stream or Discord, because then I could actually walk them through so much of the minutae of what makes this level tick - Especially after all the new problems introduced in the level after 2.2.
If you haven't realised yet, I uploaded a video called "The Impossible Levels of 2.2" showcasing levels including this one that got bugged when the game updated after 7 years of waiting just last Christmas in 2023. That video absolutely blew up, and helped boost my stream viewership to 20 solid people a day. Luckily, crohn44 noticed the issue and promptly made a workaround patch using some new 2.2 objects to try and emulate the old gameplay of this level - but it made so many of the older parts feel inconsistent and weird. If you try to play this level on 120fps, let alone 60fps, you are going to have the WORST time. Play on 360fps or Click Between Frames if you don't want to torture yourself like I did.
As for the community - you guys are seriously awesome. I can't believe how much overwhelming support I've gotten from you guys these past 27 days, both on stream and Discord. And I also want to say thank you SO much to my irl friends too. Beating this level feels like a symbolic end of a chapter in my life that I am glad to see behind me - and I couldn't have gotten this far without the love and support of those close to me. I cover this in detail in the video at 1:13:07 but this level has a lot of weird parts to it that can make grinding this feel frustrating to those that may be jumping up to this difficulty. But for people that have already beaten harder stuff, Reflective is a really fun flow sync and wave based level to go for.
The weirdness it does have prevents me from fully giving it a 10/10, but I still love this level and despite that one new bug introduced in GD's 2.2 update, the fact that the lag was fixed by RobTop so now I could finally beat this level in full detail mode is a godsend. Honestly? Best advice I can give is just play this with up arrow. I found playing spammy levels on mouse gives me much more hand pain - Idk if that's carpal tunnel or what - but if you wanna try switching to up arrow this could be a level you can try to beat (I do recommend beating at least an Easy Demon and a Hard Demon with up arrow before you try anything harder)
Just remember that it is hardware dependant. So if you've got a good G502 mouse and a bad keyboard then stick to using mouse. Everyone's hardware is different. Good luck with the waves on this level! They can be brutal...

The biggest requirement is mainly an understanding of chained orb timings and how to adjust each click to avoid making later orbs in a chain harder.
There are multiple sections in this level such as the UFO at 19% where every single click is a timing that's dependant on the timings before it up until you reach the dash orb at the end. As a result they can be very frustrating to learn because if you just fall into the step of playing to the beat of the song you will die since the level isn't perfectly synced - but that's not Thanatophobia's fault I don't think there is any GD level that's perfectly synced this game ain't Guitar Hero
Don't overthink the ship clicks, they are small hold timings and where you let go matters but they are slightly lenient. Some orbs are microclicks, some are holds. And as for the orange orb at 56%, click it. It makes that section SO much more consistent.

All spikes have a rectangle hitbox. If you need to see them, go into practice mode and click the gear in the top right and turn on "Show hitboxes". You can toggle visible hitboxes in practice mode with the P key on your keyboard if you have "Enable Quick Keys" turned on in the Gameplay tab of the Options menu found at the main menu. If you want to hide your players hitboxes, then in the practice tab of Options turn on "Disable Player Hitbox". Use hitbox vision in the practice mode to get an understanding of the spike hitbox rectangle. Every spike in almost every level including main levels use this hitbox, so get accustomed to it because this is gonna help not just in platformer but also in normal levels too.
This level is surprisingly accessible now that platformer physics have been made much more grippy. It did not feel that hard, and the parts that were hard are the first checkpoint and the very ending. Since most of the middle is relatively easy comparatively, with only a few tougher checkpoints, you can most likely complete this level without any practice. The knowledge that there's only 10 checkpoints in 5 screens makes getting through this less soul destroying. You can see with the time at the top that it took me just about half of my total time spent only on the very first checkpoint. And the skills you learn from grinding that checkpoint transfer to later in the level. It will take you a while however! So put aside a whole day and if you can get a quick practice session in beforehand to get a feel for what you're getting yourself into.
Honestly the only technique I can really give advice on is to avoid landing on the right side of the spike next to that pink orb at 42:45. Trying to land on the left side of that spike from the right side with a pink orb jump is weird... just stay on top of the pink orb and commit to landing on the left side straight away. Saves you a timing, and means you can make the leap to the final checkpoint right away. That pink orb is probably the 2nd hardest checkpoint behind the first and final checkpoint.
Just have patience! Put on some good music, and vibe out. I might go for the Abyss next but... that level is this level on STEROIDS, with even more checkpoints spread even further apart in low lighting conditions. I might do the Tower XXII first...

I'm not good enough at platformer to give real advice for this level. I dabbled with doing sections spam only, and no side to side movement, then sometimes I'd change it up and start trying to control my movement. Honestly, if you ever get stuck, you can always use your movement to try and stop halfway through a checkpoint to either survey what's up ahead, or to line yourself up for the next section.
Also, this level has Insane Demon gameplay, but it's far too short to count as one. Platformer difficulties are very overrated right now, but are also quite hard to gauge as the gamemode is so new.
Still not harder than Fall Facility on my phone though. (RobTop please rate)

This level is easy you'll be fine. Unless you go for the coins... In order to get them you need to activate "imagination" at the start, and then use the codes I did at 90%. Each code corresponds to a coin, and the more codes you add, the harder the final miniship becomes. All 3 coins makes that thing literally silent. I don't have advice for if you choose to get the coins... Just remember that the gauntlet copy also requires you to get the 3 coins so if you're good at miniship then this level is a free 6 coins!

All the levels shown here aren't actually impossible! Sunset Sandstorm and Sonic Wave received bugfixes, Black Blizzard's green orb is doable if you buffer a jump off the floor beneath, and many other bugged levels that I didn't show like Windy Lanscape ARE still doable, but in order to get the max height jump off a slope you need to click on nearly the last frame of the slope in order to get it. It's much much harder than 2.11's slope physics and I'm sure these levels will eventually get fixes, but as of today none of the levels shown today are impossible.
Oh, Aleph 0 is also possible. You need to actually NOT hold on the slope before that gravity portal, then buffer again *on* the portal and you'll be fine.
[OLD DESCRIPTION] Here's a handful of levels I've tested that had some sort of change from the new 2.2 240fps physics, slope bugfix, and green orb bugfix too. I left my thoughts on the matter near the end, but we'll have to see how RobTop handles this situation.
Yes I've been trying to beat Sunset Sandstorm for a while now, I currently have 26 - 100% and 68%. Luckily, I won't be able to play for a few months so whilst I miss out on new 2.2 content I won't miss out on the buggy state the game was inevitably gonna be in. I knew this was coming, I warned people of it. I just hope they don't treat RobTop too harshly and we manage to get a good compromise that keeps the level playing field of the new physics without jeopardising all 8 million old levels.

Skills required - Wave and Spammy wave
The duals honestly don't matter. It's all just focusing on the wave, the dual is just flavouring, the only time it really impacted the gameplay was at 37%. You need to do what I do and ride the wave really close to the ceiling and follow the weird spike in order for your ship to gain enough height to actually get on top of that spike and 2 mini blocks. This is the only awkward feeling part of the level, and could be fixed with some restructuring to the wave corridor so the player naturally does that extra early timing anyways.
As for the rest of the level, I found it fun. I think my spam has gotten a lot better so I didn't have too many issues, but I do NOT recommend this level unless you really REALLY want to test your wave. The waves here are some of the hardest I've played in an Insane Demon.

The level felt surprisingly balanced. It's got a long beginning, so that may be frustrating since the drop wave is so fast, but if you wanna test yourself on spam and wave I actually recommend this as either a first or second Insane Demon. It's atypical to some of the Insane Demons you may be recommended, so if you're tired of hearing Windy Landscape as a first Insane maybe try this?

Skills required - Almost every click is a super lenient timing or a buffer click. Which made me wonder why this is an Insane Demon - seems like most of the difficulty just comes from learning when to click rather than how as the gameplay is all over the place due to mostly being auto flourishes followed by usually unindicated jumps.
The parts that do push this to Insane Demon though would be 37% and the final dual. 37% is a chokepoint timing that I died to a ton - If I got past it I was guaranteed to reach the dual. And for the dual, it just has a ton of weirdness going on. For most of the clicks you want to buffer them, except for the blue orb at 80%. I timed that one a little bit late, then buffer the rest of the clicks. That seemed to prevent the part from randomly killing me. And aim quite high with the wave at 83% on all 3 strokes to make sure you land in the next portal - Immediately buffer click the green dash orb afterwards too that jump was very tight.
I do not recommend doing this as a hardest. For me the chokepoints I described were the only parts killing me, but this level has plenty of tight waves and ships that would be brutal for a newer player, especially because this level can be quite laggy. I think 37% was a refresh rate bug in all honesty, but I didn't want to play this level on 60hz. All in all, good level, but the lag and weird deaths at the dual that didn't feel like my fault drag it down a good bit. I only recommend trying this once you've already beaten some harder Insane's or an Extreme Demon.

My twitch - twitch.tv/kaiwala23 My GDDP - https://gddp.pro/users/8057GD - Future Funk II - 200th DemonKaiwala2023-10-05 | All 3 coins are collected. Details in description.
My longest standing uncompleted level has been finally beaten for my 200th Demon milestone. 4.5 years lol! Longer than it took me to beat the original Future Funk, because I started playing that level after dropping Future Funk II.
In game difficulty - Insane Demon Personal difficulty - Peak Insane Demon Enjoyment - 9/10 Attempts - 20,001 Time Taken - 26h 58m + loads more from before I started tracking Song - LemKuuja = Ouais Ouais youtu.be/nLRo25fBxGc
Skills required - Unlike Future Funk this one requires a lot more spam - They tended to be the chokepoints of the level. Good ship control and tight gaps are common, especially in the second half. However, I'd say this level is overall more balanced than Future Funk - it is much much harder though. Hardest Insane Demon I've beat imo, above Leyak and Thorns and Brambles. Most attempts too!
Do not go for the coins unless you're crazy or already an Extreme Demon grinder. They introduce many chokepoints and make the level that much harder. I only learned the coins for this completion as I was already super familiar with the level by this point and would've beat it much faster anyways. Well... I mean I still beat it about as fast as I would've without coins cause of my fluke... but that's besides the point.
Coin guide below
Coin #1 At 4% you need to dip down and flip that tiny level with your mini UFO. Yes, it needs to be flipped, you can miss it.
Then at 11% ignore the orange orb and instead take the lower path as a mini robot. You then need to do some precise jumps to make it back up to the ball portal - going through the robot portal will just kill you.
At 16% I have a setup. Wait very late on the second click of this part, and jump right as the right side of your cube touches the tiny spike. Jumping this late lets you hold buffer click the blue orb and automatically aligns you between the 2 spikes above.
Coin #2 (Thanks to SuperprocraftyTB for showing me this skip!) We're gonna cheese this one! Don't do it legit, it's stinky. At 42% you want to take the top path with your mini wave, not the bottom path. This has a few spikes and extra clicks, but is the only secret area required to prevent the coin from leaving when we do our next trick.
At 55% you simply double click the 2 black orbs. Aim the double click on the very far left of the first black orb, right as you touch it with the edge of your ball. This is not the intentional way, but this way lets you skip the first few "triggers" required to make the *intended* path for the coin open. But we don't need that path, cause Jonathan left this gap for you to exploit. However you do need to take the top path at 42% otherwise the coin will just leave even if you do double click the black orbs.
Coin #3 This one is the hardest. Extreme Demon difficulty imo. At 67% grab the yellow block. At 68% grab the much fainter yellow block. At 69% (nice) grab the last yellow block. 3 blocks for 3 wheels.
This activates the 3 coins in the ending, and the first 2 are not super bad At 84% move your wave above the cube portal to grab the first coin. At 87% quickly wave up in that tiny gap to grab the second coin.
92% is Extreme Demon difficulty. Fit your wave narrowly between the blocks above and the spider portal, grab the coin, go as high as physically possible without touching the top spikes, then go back down in order to avoid the spikes at the bottom. I made this into a very narrow timing by doing this, but if you insert a quick adjustment click instead you can avoid the holding super high part - however I found doing a microclick there could sometimes fling me up in the spider portal so I did the Sonic Wave method instead.

My GDDP - https://gddp.pro/users/8057 My twitch - twitch.tv/kaiwala23Jtoh - Tower of The Dripping Amalgam - New HardestKaiwala2023-09-11 | First Extreme! I jumped to this from ToCA, which makes this an entire difficulty jump. Cause I'm funny.
Jump from 8.46 to 9.55 or a middle difficulty Insane to a middle difficulty Extreme.
In game difficulty - Extreme Personal difficulty - Extreme Geometry Dash difficulty comparison - Felt like a beginner Extreme Demon? I beat it too quickly for that to be honest. So maybe a peak Insane Demon. Enjoyment - 8/10 Worst fall - Floor 10. Third last jump, the ladder flick wraparound I failed twice. I got there twice this session, and both set me back an hour each. Time Taken - 34.5 hours. 11 days. Tons more uncounted hours in practice.
Skills required - Consistency and camera control. I could list all the techniques used but these 2 are the most important. You have to approach this tower with the understanding that it will take practice, and it will take perseverance.
It took me 3 days of playing from F1 to finally beat the F5 outside and enter the second half. I immediately fell back to F3 then F1... took a few hours to climb all the way back up even with the new button progress. Got back to F6. Was ecstatic, fell again.
The second to last day I played, I played for 625 minutes straight - 10 hours. I got to F6 button progress almost immediately, fell back to F1. Got to F8 button progress a good 40 minutes after that, and then the next 9 hours were just me zigzagging my way up and down the tower over and over just building not just consistency in my gameplay, but in my mentality.
That's what this tower is really. Zora said this tower would test my endurance, and bloody hell did it. Even with both button progresses you can still end up at Floor 1... but because you have the button progress, you can't just call it quits for the day and start over tomorrow. You just gotta get back up and "go again". After a while, my hatred for the first few floors including 3 and 4 dissipated.
That's how, on the day I beat it 9th of September I got this footage of me getting to Floor 6 in only 8 minutes. It's cause I had simply fallen and redone 1-5 hundreds of times that it was second nature to me. And because of my 625 minute run 2 days prior, I was super confident with the second half so even after 2 demoralising F10 fails on the final "hard" jump, I picked myself up. And got back up there.
All in all, I'm enjoying JToH. This was a fun experience, and a really rad tower that I can't help but just gawk at how cool it is. The music is :flames: as well. I didn't end up streaming it though because my stream was causing lag, sorry :(
My twitch - twitch.tv/kaiwala23Jtoh - Tower of Curved Ascent - 3rd InsaneKaiwala2023-08-29 | This is ranked to be harder than Tower of Unsettling Heights, but that one took me a little bit whilst I finished this literally the next day after beating ToMB, meaning I've gone from having no SC's to beating 3 in the span of a week. I'm crazy. So this is a new hardest? Definitely doesn't feel like it. I need to try something harder than Insane this difficulty isn't as tough as I thought it would be...
In game difficulty - Insane Personal difficulty - Insane Geometry Dash difficulty comparison - Felt like a Low Insane Demon Enjoyment - 10/10 Worst fall - Floor 9 wrap onto that truss with the glass wall Time Taken - 8 hours. All in 1 day. Lots more practice on F7+ than time spent playing from F1.
Skills required - Purist wraps and the confidence to do them quickly. Lots of left handed wraps too hence why large sections I do in first person actually, first time I've used the mode exclusively for a section in a tower just cause trying to manage the shift lock camera without it spazzing out throws me off, so first person really helped for F8 and 9.
This tower is quite balanced, I ended up treating it like a GD level really cause I just speedran the damn thing so I never had a chance to get too stressed out. I only got to F9 twice and the first one was just a test run to see how far I could get lmao
My twitch - twitch.tv/kaiwala23Jtoh - Tower of Mind Breaking - 2nd InsaneKaiwala2023-08-27 | More like Tower of Mind Numbing amiright? Anyways I beat my first insane literally a few days ago and then I beat this tower with only a day's practice - Including a prior F1-F10 run that failed right at the end.
That means I beat 2 Insane's back to back in 1 week lmao I wonder how hard I'll find Extreme's
In game difficulty - Insane Personal difficulty - Insane Geometry Dash difficulty comparison - Felt like a Hard Demon Enjoyment - 6/10 Worst fall - Floor 10 final truss wrap Time Taken - Less than 36 hours. A day and a half from start to finish including sleep n stuff.
Skills required - Complicated wraps, truss flicks and client object spinners. This tower has a ton of complicated SC like purist gameplay with plenty of client object segments that vary wildly in difficulty, so maybe don't do this as a hardest.
Because F5 is a semi net, and F7 is an almost full net - Focusing on getting to F7 is a good idea. Prioritise practicing the F10 ending, and F4-F7 pre button, as that is all the gameplay past the annoying first 3 floors that aren't fully netted yet. Although I highly recommend practicing F8 and F9 a bit because as you see in the video I spent 2 hours just trying to complete F7 - F9 in one go, and this was my second time completing that section of the tower! I spent another 2 hours on F7-F9 the day prior only to fail 3 jumps before the ending on F10.
This tower felt like the opposite of ToUH. Very forgiving once you reach F7, and honestly I probably would've fluked it too if I wasn't stupid. But the raw gameplay is much harder than the forgiving aspect makes it seem, so again - beat a different Insane before this one maybe.
My twitch - twitch.tv/kaiwala23Jtoh - Tower of Unsettling Heights - 1st InsaneKaiwala2023-08-25 | Floor 7 to Floor 10 don't have a bottom. That's the Unsettling Height described in the tower's name. In order to beat this twisted creation you have to first get to Floor 7, and then - without failing a single jump - make it to the end of the Floor 10, where a speedrun section awaits you with rising kill lava. To say that this tower is stressful is an understatement.
This is my new hardest, and my first Soul Crushing tower. I don't think I've reached my skill level yet with this game - so I'll keep grinding until I beat an Extreme.
In game difficulty - Insane Personal difficulty - Insane Geometry Dash difficulty comparison - Felt like a high Insane Demon Enjoyment - 7/10 Worst fall - Floor 9 pushing wall area 3 times Time Taken - 14 hours over a few months - maybe like 2 weeks of playing
Skills required - Nerve control. Then truss control, high jumps, wraps, timed ladder flicks, wallhops (over nets tho) and being able to cope with the inconsistency of the honey mechanic.
The first 5 floors of this tower can be quite hellish to get through, but they do eventually get consistent. Floor 4 and 5 are the hardest of this lot - I fell a TON from these floors which made getting to Floor 6 quite rare.
Floor 6 is all netted so despite it being about as hard as the last 2 floors it's fine, except for that one gnarly long jump you do over a hole right at the end. But that's just a taster of how cruel this tower can be - Floors 7 to 10 take a sharp right hand turn over a massive cliff. Falling is an instant restart to the run - and I fell many times, probably 10+ past F7, some of them right at the very beginning of this section! To beat this tower I had to go to the practice place and do runs of the last 4 floors many, many times before I eventually got it.
The day I beat this tower I fell past F7 maybe 6 times. What that means is that I got so consistent at F1 - F6 that I was basically just speedrunning it in around 6-10 minutes each time (if I didn't fall, which happened often before F6) so I'd kept getting to F7 a ton the day I beat this tower. I reached a point where I said if I fell down at all in the first 6 floors, I'd quit out - go practice F9 and F10, then try again. By the time I beat the tower, I was almost perfectly consistent at F1-3, and semi-consistent at F4-8 to the point that I stopped practicing F7 and F8 cause I knew the only reason why I was falling on those floors was cause of stress, and not cause of a lack of practice.
Honestly? I treated this like a GD level on my final attempt. You can see me literally race through F10, despite never having gotten that far before - This is because the last 2 "Personal Best" attempts before hand I stopped to try and regain my nerves, go drink some water or whatever, and it just meant I was a shaky mess and would fall 3 jumps later. So I basically just had to sit down and smash my head into a brick wall until the winning attempt where I was just perfectly calm and relaxed all the way through - cause I'd done it many times before!
You can even see me try to calm my nerves by deliberately playing music and singing along at certain points. I'm a very nervous player, both in GD and Jtoh, so beating something like this gives me a ton more euphoria than my previous hardest CoSR which whilst structurally also leaning to the right with it's final stretch of floors, was completely netted so felt more like a gruelling slog than a triumphant victory.
All in all, I really like this tower. Glad I did this as a first Insane instead of ToDT or ToTL, feels a lot more like a personal accomplishment.
Also screw the honey block mechanic and the X bouncers that #### made me fall both inside and outside enough times that I was sick of them client objects by the end of it.

My GDDP - https://gddp.pro/users/8057 My twitch - twitch.tv/kaiwala23GD - Dear NostalgistsKaiwala2023-07-23 | I noticed I never collected the last coin of this level, despite having played it for 2 years and already having beat it. I thought I may as well showcase it while I'm at it, because I never uploaded this level but I feel like it was an incredibly important early level for me when grinding the GD ladder. It was never a hardest, I just really liked the gameplay despite the bugs.
In game difficulty - Easy Demon Personal difficulty - Mid Easy Demon Enjoyment - 8/10 Attempts - 2,711 on first completion Time Taken - No idea for first completion Song - Bossfight = Okiba Crackdown youtu.be/PgFWP391ZOs
Skills required - Play on 60hz, it's impossible on higher fps due to a refresh rate bug past 80%. It's a long level, so practice thoroughly - the first ship before the drop is probably the hardest part, followed by the ending.

My GDDP - https://gddp.pro/users/8057 My twitch - twitch.tv/kaiwala23Jtoh - Totally a TowerKaiwala2023-07-17 | It's a mini tower. Completing it takes less than 3 minutes - I ended up taking 3 hours.
Turns out, 2 hours in I realised my FPS bypass was at 360fps. I changed it to 60fps and it made all the ladder gameplay more consistent. Very fun gameplay - frustrating as hell chokepoints though.
In game difficulty - Intense Personal difficulty - Intense Geometry Dash difficulty comparison - Felt like a challenge level that you spend way longer than you thought you would Enjoyment - 3/10 Worst fall - Floor 9 right after the final wallhop. Are they even floors anymore? Time Taken - 186 minutes Attempts - 258
Skills required - Ladder flicking. This tower uses ladders, not trusses, and it turns out that there is a difference in the physics. Wrapping around the corner of a ladder piece is so much more inconsistent, and trying to grab on to them is also much more slippery and difficult to pull off. Because I bypassed to 360fps, I ended up falling outside hundreds of times and having to redo that first 45 second interior every. single. time. Hence why I was able to do the interior so fast - falling outside every attempt made me hone the interior so much that I started flicking the first wallhop just to get back outside quicker.
Also, patience. Even the regular jumps feel slipperier than the slides at water world - which just served to exacerbate my annoyance with the tower in general, because I'd rather fail at the chokepoints over and over instead of random easy jumps. No idea why this took 3 hours. I did find it fun though, I just hated it...
My twitch - twitch.tv/kaiwala23Jtoh - Tower of Astral FusionKaiwala2023-07-10 | This is my new favourite tower alongside Heiwana Kaze. They both have very forgiving checkpoint based safety nets, below some really tough gameplay that's higher than the tower's in game difficulty. As such, you have a safe place to learn some more advanced techniques without fear of having to redo the whole tower. Except for F6 and F9 outside - and the F10 safety net having a 3 lives system, but honestly even then redoing this tower from F1 at the top is still super fun and it's quite short too so you can get back very fast.
This video is spliced between my first winning attempt at F10, and a speedrun of the tower I did immediately after beating it. The speedrun is unedited from F1 through to F9, but I choked the ending and broke the F10 safety net - so I cut that out and put my original completion footage there instead, hence why the timer jumps up to 20 minutes. I have only beaten this tower once - but I'll definitely rebeat it!
In game difficulty - Remorseless Personal difficulty - Remorseless Geometry Dash difficulty comparison - Felt like a Medium Demon Enjoyment - 10/10 Worst fall - Floor 6 like 3 times Time Taken - 1 day playing - Maybe 10 hours
Skills required - Truss control. I suggest getting at least some confidence with Rem's before doing this tower, but some people have done this as a hardest. Since this is in Zone 6, I highly recommend beating the Intense difficulty Tower of Heiwana Kaze in Zone 5 FIRST, because it's got a very similar forgiving safety net system combined with really hard ladder gameplay. That tower is a bit longer, and can get frustrating, so prepare yourself for the long haul. It improved my skill with ladder flicking enormously, and so going to this tower afterwards felt like a breeze. Both of these towers are my favourites in Jtoh so far.
Also, when somebody recommended me this tower after I beat ToIA, they told me to go practice F6, F9 and F10 first. Very good advice - F6 outside is a run killer especially because falling on the inside tp's you before the outside section so you're never safe until F7, and F9 and F10 have some outside sections that aren't netted either.
To keep it simple - everything inside is netted. Everything outside isn't. I even died on F7 cause I accidentally overshot a jump and fell out of the frame :(
My twitch - twitch.tv/kaiwala23Jtoh - Citadel of Scythe RecognitionKaiwala2023-06-19 | This is a Citadel, which usually has 15 floors instead of the usual 10 per tower. But this particular Citadel has 17 floors due to it's scythe shape. I only chose to play this because every time I joined ring 6 it always caught my eye - Having now beat it, I don't know if it's a particularly good tower, but my experienced was probably soured by my lack of healing items which dragged out the run immensely. The time I spent healing was cut out of the video to make it much more watchable.
In game difficulty - Remorseless Personal difficulty - Remorseless Geometry Dash difficulty comparison - Felt like a Medium Demon Enjoyment - 4/10 Worst fall - Floor 8 Time Taken - 3 days short practice 1 day playing - Maybe 10 hours
Skills required - This is a purist tower, so lots of wraps tightropes and ladder flicks. There is one timed button section on F8 with a wrap at the end that can be scary, but other than that the main thing is killbrick avoidance. Bring healing items - I didn't bring any and it ballooned my time from a 50 minute completion to 2 whole hours.
Practice the last 7 floors. Just go from F10 all the way to F17 like you're playing it normally, and don't use the noclip too often. Because these floors are netted they are completely safe, but you should learn safe strats to get out of the killbrick floors, and you should at least freshen up the route so all you need to do is get to Floor 9 and you can safely spend as long as you need to beat the rest of the tower without fear of falling.
