LIMBO 100% (LEGENDARY DEMON) // Mindcap and MORE OneAlphaHelix 2025-04-17 | LIMBO is a Geometry Dash level that has caught my attention, let's just say that.I've always wanted to do it, but always had another commitment taking up my time (that seems to be a common theme with this huh). It was Acheron, then Flamewall, then being inactive.On a whim, last October, I tried to beat this off stream, entirely in secret. I ended up getting 81% before dropping it due to it being boring. But I told myself that it was definitely more viable to stream, so if I ever returned, I'd finish it off.Thankfully, I did. Like everyone else says, playing this level is an absolute CHORE. This level is probably the pinnacle example of a generational level being brought down by bad gameplay/balancing. You guys probably already know the chokepoints (48, 63, yadda yadda).But for some reason, I decided to keep going, and we ended up here. What an attempt to end it on as well. The red key was always a joke between me and WaterFireCraft, where he'd play LIMBO and I'd tell him on every single key attempt to pick red. Little did I know at the time, the red key would come full circle.Anathema's gonna be my next hard level, but I'm definitely not ready to stream it (I probably won't be for a few weeks). In the mean time, I'll probably beat some more bucket list levels on the easier end of extremes. The Golden 100% (LEGENDARY DEMON) // BoBoBoBoBoBoBo OneAlphaHelix 2025-03-20 | I know this doesn't seem like it would warrant much of a celebration, given what else I've already beaten, but this one means a lot to me. I had already beaten three list demons, but all of them were rather approachable for me, and I didn't really think I was pushing myself that much. This level, to me, has proved that I still got it, even if I'm not as good as I once was.The Golden is a level that has always held a special place in my heart. It was the hardest level when I really started getting into the community back in 2020, and while I've been playing the game since 2014, it's this level which SERIOUSLY caught my eyes.Granted, I had completed Tartarus over this level back in 2022, but it never left my field of view. I knew I one day wanted to come back for this, and I can't believe I actually did it under these circumstances.I won't go into my personal life too much here, but things have been very stressful for the past few weeks, much of which I had to endure on this grind. Thankfully, I was on spring break this week, meaning I had plenty of time to knock it out.The first wave (28-35) is one of the most awkward and inconsistent parts I have played in ANY level. It's on the same level as the first wave in Slaughterhouse. This part NEVER got fully consistent for me, and it took me 65 attempts at it from zero to pass it once.Everything else in the first half has some jank to it, but not to that degree. 35-100 is super consistent, and the second wave is probably my favorite wave part in any level. Seriously, the portal clicks are SO SATISFYING.But unfortunately, this had to be the level where my "good luck" ran out, as I had 16 total deaths at 70% or further, 13 of which happened after getting 94%. wait, we might be back. OneAlphaHelix 2025-02-27 | Well, as you can see by the thumbnail, I beat my third list demon in the past ten days, with all three being in the high-end extended list range. Unfortunately, I saved a rough one for last.Cognition is a level that doesn't have a lot of significance to me, but I tried it out because my friend @andythegreat315 beat it recently, and I wanted to see if I could beat it fast. Thankfully, it only took 4 days.I really didn't like this level from the start. This style of gameplay isn't something I'm used to, but my muscle memory carried me through it, so it wasn't too bad. I really don't like the song that much, and being stuck in the predrop didn't do me any favors.Speaking of predrop, this level is pretty first-half heavy, though in the last two days of playing this, I got pretty consistent at it. Specifically, the short mini-wave at 34% (named MELVIN, we hate melvin), killed a lot of my early runs and proved to never feel super comfortable. There were other choke points scattered throughout the level, but all of them were at least decently consistent.Now that I've done this, I'm going to move on to another set of three levels. This one was Cold Sweat, Renevant, and Cognition, but the next three will be quite a bit harder. Next up is The Golden, which will be a third-hardest if I pull it out. Renevant 100% - My NEW Favorite List Demon! OneAlphaHelix 2025-02-22 | I've always loved Renevant when I first saw it. Sadly, I was too caught up with other projects and never really found time to play it. That changed when I decided to go for it after beating Cold Sweat, and I'm REALLY happy I did.There are some weird inconsistensies with some clicks, but overall, I LOVED this level from start to finish, which isn't something I say very often. The predrop didn't get TOO repetitive though the ship part kinda blows. That's where the negatives end, however. Everything else got consistent, albeit slightly uncomfortable, but that just made every attempt feel more intense.Thankfully, I didn't get too unlucky with this. Getting 94% kinda sucked, but somehow, I beat it THREE ATTEMPTS LATER?! Thank god I didn't get stuck on it, because that could've ruined this experience for me.Cognition is next. After that, maybe Crimson Planet? I Beat My LEAST Favorite Level... OneAlphaHelix 2025-02-17 | You guys probably don't know this (only true OG's will), but I originally tried to beat Cold Sweat WAY back in 2021, after beating PPF. I got to 64 before dropping, but I had to this day my worst experience in GD while playing it.Honestly, this completion means more to me than you think. After everything that's happened in the past year with me dropping everything I touch, I thought I was just doomed to always come up short with EVERYTHING. Not this time, thankfully.I beat this surprisingly fast on the return, taking only three days. I got 71 yesterday after deciding to stream again on a whim, then proceeded to get HAMMERED at the UFO that night. Thankfully, @kobbob7 gave me a new click pattern to try which made the UFO feel much better to play, and clearly it paid off since I beat it in 30 minutes today.That being said, even though I had a much better experience THIS time, I still didn't enjoy it that much. The cube was a little mind-numbing from 0, and it made every attempt feel like a drag.The wave, however, is AWESOME. It's an experience from 0, let me tell you that. when the intrusive thoughts win OneAlphaHelix 2025-02-13 | So, if you saw the video, you saw that the macro I used broke for this in some places. There's a reason for that.This layout (named "Korobeiniki" for the time being) is inspired heavily by Tetris, given the name and song used. The level uses 2-PLAYER controls to allow for one button to act as your normal jump, and the other button being used to rotate/drop falling Tetris pieces throughout the level.However, the position/rotation of these pieces is RANDOMIZED, meaning the number of times you have to press the rotate/drop button won't be the same, hence why the macro was acting up. Just lazyism on my part for not polishing it oh well. Depending on the rotation of a piece, you may be forced to take an alternate path as well.Hence being themed around Tetris, a game about little cubes, the entire level is in the cube gamemode at 1x speed.I made this entire layout in the span of 7 days. Do I want to make this into a decorated level? It would be cool, but I don't know if it'll go that far. My First Ever Completed Verification... OneAlphaHelix 2024-08-13 | Vengeance by Cipha is my first completed verification in my near-10 years of playing GD. Honestly feels pretty surreal even if it's not a hardest by any means.I was approached last night by Cipha who was looking for someone to verify an update to their level. Fresh off beating La Llorona, I accepted.The level itself is great! It definitely breaks out a lot of 2.2 features but the gameplay is still fully functional despite how it may look at a first glance. I really wanted to make it as good as I can, so I had to nerf a few things but it should stand strong as a bridge between easy and mid-tier extremes.Despite all of that, I got SUPER unlucky with this. I died at 83+ a total of 11 times, with the worst of them being 96%. It definitely tanked my enjoyment a little bit, but that being said, my enjoyment doesn't dictate my opinion of the level. My NEW FAVORITE Extreme Demon. OneAlphaHelix 2024-08-12 | For well over a year, I've said that Flamewall has been my favorite Extreme Demon in the entire game, but today I can say that the honor now goes to this level.I first saw this level around last year, but I was too preoccupied with Flamewall to give it a try. Now that I had the time to do it, it was an easy choice.EVERYTHING about La Llorona just clicked for me. 10/10 decoration. 10/10 song. Gameplay that's both really fun and satisfying. I will say, the one thing I didn't like about this level was some weird bugs, but those were created by our favorite update in the game: 2.2. It took a game-breaking update to knock points off this level for me, yet still I find it to be one of my all time favorites.I originally planned to do it in one night, but I ran out of time before I needed to prepare for a trip, so I went ahead and beat it today on my 2nd attempt from 0. Truly an experience.I'd still say Windy Landscape is my favorite level in the game outright, but this is probably in the #2-3 range for sure. Now that 2.2 is here, I am having to readjust to the new physics. In some cases, they're better, but I'm finding it very difficult to make the shift (so far). It doesn't feel the same as 240hz in 2.1, not even close. I got 31% today on 2.2, but I feel that the level is harder as a result of the changes.That being said, don't form your opinion off of mine on the physics. FLAMEWALL 57% [TOP 1 - VERIFYING] OneAlphaHelix 2023-12-16 | Well, this kind of progress was bound to happen sooner or later, but I didn't expect it to happen in these circumstances.I had 15 deaths between 47-49 before getting this run, and I streamed this pretty much every day for a month. It's been a hard grind up to this point.
