I was also flying the Happymodel Mobula 6 HDZero, but I swapped the motors to 25,000KV 0802, and I swapped the battery connector to BT2.0 so I could use my Tattu 300mAh BT2.0 batteries (which are excellent batteries, by the way).

- NatePSA: You new BETAFPV FC could be PERMANENTLY RUINED unless you do this BEFORE plugging it in!Mr ShutterBug2022-07-04 | Public Service Announcement: Unfortunately this BETAFPV F4 1S flight controller has been shipping with a bug. The first time you plug in a battery or USB cable, it will boot up and permanently alter the gyro chip making it unusable and unfixable! Fortunately, if you have not powered it up yet, then you can save it by holding the boot button to put it in DFU mode the very first time you connect USB. Then, you can flash it with an official release of Betaflight 4.3, which won't have this problem.

LETS FIND OUT!Mr ShutterBug2022-02-24 | This 22.8 gram 1S WHOOP has HDZERO digital FPV. That's super cool, but is it light enough to be competitive at an analog whoop race? Music: Sport Drive by Roman Senyk MusicBuilding an Ultra-Light Digital FPV Camera for HDZero / SharkByteMr ShutterBug2022-02-08 | With this new camera, my HDZero 1S Whoop is now just 22.8 grams, and it has the widest FOV I have ever seen on a digital FPV system! Full parts list below (click SHOW MORE).
I accidentally damaged the 1S VTX in my build, but Daniel from ATX Airborne was kind enough to send me one of his. THANK YOU DANIEL! Go check out the HDZero content on his channel too! youtube.com/channel/UChgROMkzv8SmyoYq7OEpjLw
Exact parts I used for this camera: - Runcam Nano HD Camera: bit.ly/3yGNVpn - Lens from a Wolfwhoop WT07 analog camera: amzn.to/2XV7g6a - NinjaTek Armadillo TPU: amzn.to/3HA1omL
Build Notes: - Camera: I used the older Runcam Nano HD camera. It has an orange body and a 14x14mm back plate. The newer Runcam/HDZero branded nano camera has a different size back plate (14x16mm) and a different size sensor. I also have the Foxeer Digisight V2. It could work but it is not as light even after you remove all the analog wires because the sensor itself is encased in a thicker piece of glass. - Lens: I like the WT07 lens because it is ultra wide. The downside is that you have to remove the glue to get it off. I used a tiny screwdriver to break through the glue and then pry it off in pieces. There are lots of other whoop cameras with the same size lens however. If it has an IR filter, then it will probably work. Pick your favorite and give it a try (if you're feeling brave enough to modify a $50 camera, that is).
3D Printer Models: - STL file for the camera body I used: bit.ly/3oxEWTE - Remix the TinkerCad project if you want to modify the parameters: bit.ly/3GBrWlY - STL file for the updated camera mount: bit.ly/3rL3ZVv

NateCan Quicksilver Make Me A Better Whoop Racer? I Want To Find Out!Mr ShutterBug2021-11-25 | Quicksilver is a relatively new firmware option from some of the same devs who brought you NFE_Silverware. It supports brushless motors and a variety of F4 flight controllers. It even has a nice Configurator and OSD menu system! You can probably flash it onto one of your existing builds, but why would you? For me, the answer comes down to one killer feature for angle mode racing. It can take a hard hit and recover in the air without losing track of which way is up! No more "drunk gyro" syndrome! Music: "The Perfect Place" by Roman Senyk Music (used under license)Racing the Official MultiGP Qualifier with Digital FPV!Mr ShutterBug2021-08-18 | It has been way too long since my last 5" drone race, so today I'm trying to shake off the rust and put some times on the MultiGP 2021 International Qualifier track! It's going to be epic! I'm flying a brand new Floss racer with a custom build of Betaflight 4.3 optimized for 500Hz ExpressLRS, plus I get to use Shark Byte digital FPV! I may not be the fastest racer out there, but it's a good chance to put the latest cutting edge tech to the test!
My FPV video was great! I've never been able to see the track so clearly! Latency of Shark Byte feels just like analog with a rock solid 60Hz frame rate. Fortunately, my digital video did not cause any interference for analog pilots and it worked perfectly with the timing system too. It's really the perfect thing for racing! I hope they start allowing Shark Byte at all levels of MultiGP racing!
I'm also using a custom build of Betaflight 4.3 with a custom tune and ExpressLRS running at 500Hz. Running your input that fast creates extra noise, so properly handling that noise is key to having the fastest RC link in the world! I collaborated with Chris Thompson (Betaflight dev) to get this one dialed in. I hope to share more details about that in the not too distant future, so stay tuned!

It's my most durable design yet, and it's ridiculously fun to fly around my yard! Links and info below...
Batteries: If you fly on high throttle like me, then it is pretty hard on batteries. Racing flights were just 2-3 minutes depending on the battery. For fast racing or hard outdoor freestyle, I recommend top notch 2S batteries in the 450-650mAh range. Examples: - Tattu R-Line 95C 550mAh 2S - GNB 600mAh 90C HV 2S (yellow label)
ShutterBug85 Analog Version: If you are using analog FPV, then your performance will be even better because of the reduced weight. In that case, you can mount the FC on top, like normal. You can use the same canopy with any 14x14mm camera, but you might need to adjust the position of the screw holes depending on the length of your lens.
Custom Betaflight 4.3 Tune: My new tune is a work-in-progress. You're welcome to use it, but you do so at your own risk. Be careful and check for hot motors before you go crazy with it. Feedback is welcome! I'm using a nightly build of Betaflight 4.3.0 and the Betaflight Configurator 10.8.0 since they have not yet been officially released. You can take a chance and try them out now, or you can wait for the official released when the bugs (if any) have been worked. For details on my current tune, refer to the following document. Getting Started with Shark Byte: - Any FPV goggles or display with HDMI input. I have Fat Shark HDO2. - FatShark Shark Byte RX5.1 Receiver Module: bit.ly/3acLQ9O - Two SMA antennas of your choice to go on top of the RX. They should be RHCP to match the patch antennas that are built-in.
Parts I Recommend (not exactly what I used): - Shark Byte TX5S.1 single board digital VTX: bit.ly/2PW8eNR - Runcam Nano HD Camera: bit.ly/3e1GgIp or Foxeer Digisight V2 (I have not used it, but it is another option): bit.ly/32iNcLD - 55mm MIPI Cable (shorter than the one that comes with the camera): bit.ly/3uR8Rqv - FPVCycle Babytooth 3" Frame (2mm thick version): bit.ly/2Q3zEBi - FPVCycle 13mm 7700KV Motors (if you can find them in stock): bit.ly/2XWcOvQ OR Happymodel 1202.5 6400KV Motors (what I used here): bit.ly/3wZFdkG OR other motor with similar size and KV. - BetaFPV 12A F405 Whoop AIO. It is light and has good features. It also has motor plugs, which you could use or remove: bit.ly/3acAjr5 OR BetaFPV 20A F405 Toothpick AIO for an even easier and more robust build: bit.ly/3mPbiqR - Gemfan 3018 2-blade props (1.5mm shaft or 2mm shaft depending on your motors): http://bit.ly/2T9KkNW or Gemfan 3016 3-blade props (these fly smoother, but they have less power for pulling out of dives): http://bit.ly/36REC7a - RHCP Singularity Antenna with U.FL (I recommend not using the "short" one. It is harder to get a good antenna placement): bit.ly/3uMgi2e - Crossfire Nano Receiver (or receiver of your choice): bit.ly/3mO7ZAa - Crossfire Minimoral T V2 Antenna (or whatever goes with your receiver): bit.ly/3dhfmx0 - Velcro Cable Ties for battery strap: amazon.com/dp/B001E1Y5O6 - Cloth Tape: amazon.com/gp/product/B01NA8TIJ5 - M2 x 4mm motor screws (titanium or steel) - M2 x 15mm stack screws (titanium or steel) - Thin foam battery pad helps it stay put:

Good luck! - NateDAS Might Change The Way I Race Whoops! Emuflight’s New Dual-Axis Steering!Mr ShutterBug2021-01-04 | I have a fresh new whoop for 2021 racing. It has updated components and a new tune, but the real secret sauce is a new feature of Emuflight called "Dual-Axis Steering". It's specifically designed for angle mode racing, and it may just change the way I fly whoops! Build info and tune below...
Emuflight Tune: Thanks to Patrick Clarke for early access to this Project Mockingbird tune (still a work-in-progress). Emuflight screenshots and CLI commands can be found in this document: bit.ly/2MkaJaj
Dual-Axis Steering: DAS is set up in the CLI. The names of the commands have changed since the time I made my video. If you’re using an older build the commands are called “add_yaw_to_roll” and “add_roll_to_yaw” (as described in my video). If you are using a newer build then they have been renamed to “das_roll_with_yaw_input” and “das_yaw_with_roll_input” respectively. The setting “das_yaw_with_roll_input” means, “when you tilt the roll stick, also make the drone rotate about the yaw axis.” This feature can be set differently for different rate profiles. The recommended starting values are given below. Increase the “das_yaw_with_roll_input” value if you want to do more of the steering on the right stick. Full right-stick-only steering is hard to get used to, but I enjoy using a mix in the middle. set das_yaw_with_roll_input = 30 set das_roll_with_yaw_input = 20

Build Info: This is a 1S drone built on the Babytooth frame by FPV Cycle. The drone weighs about 33g and is very similar to the first one I built, which I showed in my video "Building the Worlds Lightest 3-Inch FPV Drone": youtu.be/obns6k1xhIc.
The battery weighs 13g and the Insta360 GO weighs 20g, so battery + action cam doubles the weight of the drone for a flying weight of 66g.
Insta360 GO: Tiny action cam with amazing image stabilization. It can only record for 5 minutes at a time and will run out of battery after two flights, but it opens up some interesting possibilities, so I have fun with it. From GetFPV: bit.ly/32fxulv From BetaFPV: bit.ly/3id5vbG

ABOUT THE INSTA360 GO: I just got this camera. This footage came from my first few flights with it. The image quality is NOT as good as a GoPro, but it is cool that it can mount on such a small drone and you don't have to strip it down to reduce weight. A lot of the resolution is lost because it records a full 180 deg and then crops down to the 16:9 rectangle. Also, the compression makes things a bit blocky when things are moving fast. I scaled it up to 4K to get the best compression on YouTube. There is a phone app that lets you change the stabilization mode and even rotate or re-aim the shot (which is really cool) Unfortunately, the PC/Mac software is pretty useless. When I mount the camera sideways (like on this drone) and use "FPV Stabilization" mode, the video comes out sideways. You can fix that on the phone app, but not on the PC (weird). The camera also has some real limitation that you should know about. It only records for 5 minutes at a time, it only records 25 fps, there is limited in-camera storage, and the battery only lasts for a few flights before needing to recharge. It is a really interesting camera though. I'll probably have more interesting footage to show in the future. Stay tuned!
ABOUT THE BETA95X V2 DRONE: It actually flies quite well for such a small whoop with an HD camera. I was happily surprised! It was pretty easy to control, but flying really slow is still a challenge. The "pusher" design seem to help in flight, but it can make it tricky to take off again after you turtle in the grass or dirt. I used a 450mAh 4S battery and was getting over 5 minutes of flight time (longer than the camera can record) on gentle flights. Note that the flight time will probably be lower if you use a naked GoPro and the DJI FPV system, but those are options.

Warm regards, NateX-Knight 5 Review (watch this before you fly it)Mr ShutterBug2020-09-06 | This 5-inch 6S drone is so light you don't even have to register it with the FAA, but is it worth it for you? I've packed a ton of info into this video so hopefully it can help answer that question. Click "SHOW MORE" for links and build suggestions:

Some motor options to consider: - BetaFPV/RacerX 1506 3000KV (shown here): bit.ly/315Rs1V NOTE: These are great motors but a little small for 5-inch. - BetaFPV 1805 (pick your KV): bit.ly/betafpv-1805-motors NOTE: These are better motors for 5" but may be less durable. - BrotherHobby 2004 (pick your KV): bit.ly/2PPfjMl NOTE: I have not tried these, but they look like a great size for an ultralight 5". If you have experience with them, please comment below. :-)
