Gervonta Davis Interview: “I Come From Nothing” Brian J. Roberts 2023-01-20 | Gervonta Tank Davis lived a CRAZY life (it's a MIRACLE he survived). He slept in the street. He raised himself. It's a MIRACLE he survived his childhood given his tumultuous upbringing and unbelievable life story (that's why I don't think Ryan Garcia or anyone else will beat him). He's built different. Because what he had to overcome just to get to where he is hard to believe. Gervonta's mom lost custody of him and his older brothers at age 5. Gervonta's father was incarcerated. He was raised by his grandmother.. until a certain point. But for the most part, he raised himself. He was able to travel and see the world thanks to his talent, hard work, discipline, and drive. But he lost friends and endured unimaginable hardships. Thanks to his coaches who instilled a drive and belief in him, we have him here. How his story isn't more a part of the boxing news circulating today, I don't know. But there's a lot to learn, in terms of life advice, and advice on how to succeed, from him. This Gervonta Davis interview I did is akin to a documentary, given the depth he goes into some standout moments from his childhood.
