The intention is with a second powerwall, that during summer months we will never pay for peak rate electricity and often use little off-peak. Then during winter months we will pay for very little peak rate electricity except on the darkest of days.

Below are a list of possible improvements, some of which may be implemented in updates by Kaiweets.
FIRMWARE:
1: OVER needs to say UNDER when off the bottom of the range. This could potentially be a safety issue so it's really important.
2: The red text for the hottest point is very hard to see and needs to be changed a little to make it more visible.
3: When using the menus, the ENTER button has to be pressed to go into a menu selection, but the RIGHT ARROW should also function to select a menu item.
(Also, to back up out of a menu, the LEFT ARROW should work as well as the back up button.
4: Going into the temperature range selection needs to be promoted to a higher level function, not buried in the settings menu.
5: The unit is difficult to use when trying to measure something around 120C because it keeps displaying OVER. There needs to be an overlap between the two ranges, or even a third middle range added.
6: Consider adding alarms and make that audible. Also if it could trigger an alarm on a connected PC, that could be very useful in industrial applications.
PC SOFTWARE:
1: It should be possible to re-align optical and thermal images in the software, in case the alignment was not set properly during the image capture.
As regards HARDWARE, I would suggest the following updates on a future model:
1: Add tripod mount, or even two to also allow sideways mounting.
2: Add a switch to detect the cover is down and signal this on the display.
3: Try to get the optical and thermal lenses closer together to reduce alignment problems, especially when having to work with nearby objects which are moving around.
4: Add a small finger grip to the bottom of the cover so it is easier to find and open when required.
