But Panasonic's DVCPRO-HD machines supported the same resolution and could take the same size tape. As JVC and Panasonic were closely related at the time, just maybe the Panasonic will play the rare JVC format. Let's try it.
JVC invented a rare and little known professional video cassette format. HDV 720P ProHD. video99.co.uk 2024-07-19 | The miniDV and DV cassette format was sometimes also used for high definition. Sony created reasonably popular HDV equipment utilising 1080i or 1080p resolutions. But JVC had to do things their own sweet way, and made a few cameras and even fewer video recorders which recorded in the 720p resolution. Interoperability between the JVC and Sony formats was almost non-existent, making it very hard to recover JVC 720p recordings properly today. We look at a JVC GY-HD201 broadcast camcorder and a matching JVC BR-HD50 "ProHD" video recorder. We will try to repair both units. The unobtainable connector for U-matic dub cables. Hirose plugs and sockets. video99.co.uk 2024-06-14 | Professional U-matic video equipment gives vastly better performance when connected to a Digital Timebase Corrector with the proper Dub cables. But here in the UK, it seems to be impossible to buy either the cables or even the Hirose RM12BPE-7S(71) type socket connectors to make them up. The RM12BPE-7PH(71) plug however is still obtainable, and the chassis mount sockets are just about obtainable, or could be scrapped from old machines. So could we make the required super-rare connector by swapping parts over with what we can still obtain? It wouldn't be easy.I am absolutely not offering to make these up, but you could get some good pointers on how to do it yourself. More information has come to light about pins 3 and 4.
