This machine runs MS-DOS from 8 disks (Part 1) Adrians Digital Basement 2022-11-12 | The year was 1982 and NEC entered the home computer market (outside Japan) with the NEC APC, or Advanced Personal Computer. The machine sported an Intel 8086 CPU, ran MS-DOS and sported dual integrated 8" floppy drives! The thing had stumped me earlier this year with a very difficult to diagnose issue. Thanks to the brand new TSR-80 Model II diagnostic ROM, fixing this just required some logical thinking and it led me right to the problem! I helped make a diagnostic ROM to help me fix the broken TRS-80 Model III! Adrians Digital Basement 2022-08-20 | #trs-80 #repair The TRS-80 Model III is fixed! As you saw in part 1, I was really stumped by the problems this board had -- so I reached out to friends Frank and David about making a diagnostic ROM for this machine.
