Sick Amiga 1200 Adrians Digital Basement Extras 2023-05-04 | I was troubleshooting this Amiga 1200 for a friend and it seems to have some kind of issue with the Alice chip. The friend has his machine back (I think he's going to buy a new motherboard) so this video is mainly informational more than anything.The Alice chip on the A1200 is producing no H-Sync (that goes to the RGB monitor) but it is producing a valid C-Sync signal. So the video capture here is captured via the composite video output. It cannot run the Kickstart ROM, it powers up and bootloops before attempting to load the OS. It does run the AmigaDIAG ROM though, as seen here. I am accessing the menus via the RS232 output, as the video display isn't usable.

Amazon Basics Oil: You might get shipped used and previously returned motor oil Adrians Digital Basement Extras 2021-07-28 | I bought 4 jugs of Amazon Basics fully synthetic 5W30 motor oil. All four came sealed in individual plastic bags (likely to help prevent leakage during shipping.) One of the bottle looked strange when viewer from the level indicator on the side of the bottle. When I took a closer look, the bottle had been opened and seemed to have a mixture of oil and water. (Perhaps coolant?) Seems that Amazon shipped me a jug that someone else had previously returned! Pay careful attention to the foil seal before putting any oil in your car, as putting this oil in my Forester XT might have been a disaster.Amazon has issued me a refund for $22.99 for this one bad jug. For background, I ordered this oil July 5, 2021 for a total of $91.96. Was delivered by Amazon July 16, 2021. (It was on backorder when I ordered it.)
