Overall a very fun video to make. Dunno if I will do Extra. Maybe... maybe not. We'll see.
You can find various tools and patches on Maribel's website here:

...Or at least I thought, but the lack of score, replays, and netplay do not inspire confidence.
I woke up not too long ago so that's why I sound groggy.

Just wanted to share a song I wrote for a new album that was just released today! This album features a variety of different composers! You can check out the full album in the link above.
Irodori is a circle which ranges from multiple genres and influences
The origins of this group came united from various Touhou communities online and is heavily inspired to create music from the games.
Artist Notes: A song composed to be fit for a snowy themed stage 4 in a hypothetical Touhou game.
The song starts off somewhat yearning, before moving into a softer, mellow melody.
I've always liked the soothing aura that the Crystal Lake instrument gives off, which I think shows best in the intro.
Speaking of that intro, sometimes I feel like it wouldn't be out of place in a sentimental modern day pop song, haha.
Anyway! I'm really happy to have been able to participate in this collab.
Thanks for the opportunity Prompto and I hope ya'll enjoy the song! :P

Summer Steam Sale still going on! Til Jul 9th.
Titled it as a Let's Play instead of "Fangame Spotlight" cuz honestly that might as well be what this video is. Less instructional though and more just me attempting to make a successful 1cc.
Game is pretty solid! I like the Discord mode system and how rewarding and forgiving it is. The added benefit of free deathbombs makes it relatively worth the risk of using. The danmaku is definitely on the harder side, albeit I'm sure things can be routed. Blind difficulty assessment is almost never fully accurate because of that.
"Greetings."
Jeez that intro was so rushed and out of place. lol
Also..
-I'm aware I said "Tobiko" instead of "Tokiko"
-I also found out that Spell Practice isn't actually unlocked by 1cc, but by some other mechanism. lol
This is nuts.

Player: Minogame
Game: Wily Beast and Weakest Creature
Condition: No Deaths | No Bombs | No Animal Hypers | No Hyper Breaks
Difficulty: Lunatic
Wow. The first Touhou game with four Ns for a survival perfect condition! I was wanting to get this done before 2019 finished. Though it did take until December due to me just taking a 2 month hiatus from the grind. We did manage it in the nick of time.
There's a lot to unpack here. So I'm going to talk about the system first. When this game was first released, survival players were thrown into peril as we weren't sure how the hell we'd define LNN(N). Eventually we settled on the most reasonable definition, which was. No Deaths and No Bombs (of course). No getting hit during hypers (resulting in a border break like phenomenon). The fourth condition is that since it's virtually impossible to avoid getting a hyper at some point, you ARE allowed to get them, but they cannot be an animal hyper. Meaning, you can't have three of the same animal tokens in one hyper activation. Since the neutral hyper gives basically no survival benefits, you can't cheese anything with it.
The game itself is very memorization based. It's a blessing, because it means you can get lots of consistency in this game. And in fact, I'd even recommend this game as a first or one of your first if you're wanting to get into LNN play in general, as the emphasis on memorization and routing makes it very accessible (if you can get past the no animal hyper restriction).
The early game is an absolute drag. I don't even care if this sounds blunt or insulting. The first three stages are unusually tiresome this time around and stage 3 is probably the worst offender. The entire stage is slow tap streaming executed in the most uninteresting way possible. At least Urumi and Kutaka are somewhat interesting. MarisaWolf can cheese Kutaka's final spell by pointblanking her the whole way through. So "Full Spell" is easy to get.
Stage 4 isn't too notable. Yachie is really chill as a stage 4 boss and is far easier than Narumi. All of her spells are routing spells. Though her final can get tricky if she moves down left. If she does that, you'll need to make a wonky escape dodge to the right.... in which I usually always fail so I just pray for good luck everytime I do this card.
Stage 5 is another offender of being absolutely boring with its slow streaming. Except in this case I'm okay with it because it's a great breather for what's to come. Midboss isn't hard. Just don't bottom hug and you won't get walled. Careful not to spawn a Gyroid.
Mayumi is one of the easiest stage 5 bosses in existence in theory, and not many of her attacks are remotely difficult. The real challenge is juggling tokens and trying not to break your no animal hyper condition. Seriously, that's the hardest part of her fight. Everything else is just memo. Youmu makes it even easier with her powerful slashes. But I opted out of Youmu because Marisa has better advantages on Geomet.
Stage 6 is most of this game's difficulty. So you should be able to make it to stage 6 very often in an LNNNN grind. The stage portion isn't too notable but the beginning is spook. I still haven't found an optimal strat for the spirits section. I just stream, but this time I ended up in a dangerous situation...
Most of Keiki is entirely memorization. The few attacks which are noticeably difficult are the third nonspell (Seriously look ahead and be aggressive). Third spell (if she stays far away from the center for an extended period of time you're screwed as Marisa).
Then the last two spells. Geomet is 100% static depending on your positioning, as it aims at you. It's basically a tap right and a tap left.... that you have to execute very precisely. It's the hardest attack in the game and the final hurdle for my particular grind. MarisaWolf kills it before you have to dodge the end of the third wave so that's why I play MarisaWolf. Just so this attack is 0.5 waves shorter. It helps.
The final is memorization and the phases align based on how and when you damage her. You can set up the same situations everytime once you've memo'd it, so in theory it should cause no problems. Thankfully for me, it didn't this time. What I do is not shoot until the spell title has moved halfway up the screen. Then I just make memorized dodges.
Some odd situations in this run. Like the Eika first spell. I retreated to the top of the screen and struggled to get back down. I almost died at the end of the wisp section in s6. And made an odd dodge at the start of Keiki's second spell. But, it all worked out! Phew.
I streamed this run live on twitch. You can watch it here. Apologies in advance for embarrassing weebspeaking on stage 6. I was deep in the moment rushed on adrenaline! Couldn't help myself!

That concludes IN. I'm not gonna bother looking at the last words because of the nature of spell practice and not being able to see the rest of a card once you get hit. And I imagine on a lot of them I'll die instantly.
Oh, and in case you're wondering. I went back to check what the memely named replay was. It was me losing a FinalA LNN pace run to Eirin's midboss non in s6. tfw couldn't fit all five letters of Eirin's name into the replay name due to only having four characters remaining.
Reminds me of the one time I named a replay "NOTMYFAU"
Oh and yes I realized after posting I called "Phoenix's Tail" by the wrong name. I accidentally called it "Possessed by Phoenix"

Wow, that was quite something. EoSD was.... no laughing matter to say the least. I started this back in late 2017 after the UFO victory, had a bit of hand pains so I gave myself a rest until a DRC in march 2018. Tried it again, failed on SG, played it a few more months before sorta dropping it until 2019 again.
I'll admit, I didn't grind this goal was aggressively as I should have. So I'm not gonna complain too much about the grind. Part of it was getting tired and bored or just plain demotivated. But I'm still going to be damn proud of this run. And I definitely did have a big chunk of close calls. 2 SG failures. A few meister failures. A million sakuya failures. Three 1MNBs to boot.
This game likes to slap you in the face when you reach stage 4.
The books are one of the hardest patterns in all of Touhou and it's no joke to say that if they didn't exist, this game would be marginally easier to LNN. I'd almost say at that point, it'd only be a little harder than HSiFS or SA. Maybe on even terms as UFO. No, seriously, if you could get to Patchy everytime, that would severely cut the grind length.
EoSD is a weird game. So many of the patterns aren't as elegant as you'd see in later ZUN games. A lot of EoSD patterns are super RNG based and messy and really like to hug the rank system. Even disregarding books, there's a lot of silly patterns in this game's late bosses that can just meme you to death. Bury in Lake (seriously wtf is that pattern???), Emerald Megalith, Everything Sakuya has that isn't her first two spells. Most of Remilia.
It's back to back super difficult RNG at the end, and thus EoSD is considered one of the hardest LNNs. I've heard people say it's the hardest, but I personally disagree. LoLK is still harder IMO. If only because Junko is absolutely brutal.
Speaking of LoLK. That's my next goal. I *want* to get it before Touhou 17 comes out (c'mon, we know ZUN's gonna make Touhou 17 this year. I can totally feel it! In my bones!)
But I also understand that it's a pretty ambitious wish. LoLK is difficult and I expect to spend a lot of months and get a lot of close calls. Maybe I'll get to a point where I don't want to finish it.
However, I can say right now I'm feeling pretty motivated! EoSD was a huge confidence boost and honestly never having to play books again is a huuuuge relief.
I like EoSD. I may not like books that much. But I'm not gonna judge EoSD as a whole just because of one BS pattern. It's honestly quite fun and those late game bosses give you really good adrenaline rushes with how crazy they get.
Anyway, so long for now ;)
Cya in space hell...

Anyway! GFW time. Lit.
No TLB this time simply because I had no way of practicing tasouken. Stage practice doesn't seem to let you get enough petals even if you perfect Yaraochi which means I'd had to probably use some outside tool to spawn it in practice. This attempt was actually my first time ever fighting tasouken so hell if I knew what to do lol. I used a flashbomb during that one part simply because it's *literally* impossible to survive without using flashbombs. But of course as fate would say without any practice on that spell I didn't last long xD (A shame because the theme song for tasouken is AMAZING)
...I would only really care about capping the TLB if I was doing UNN because like IN, no one really cares if you don't get the last spells unless you're trying to go for "perfect". But if you consider this run invalid because of the lack of TLB clear then that's fine as well. I wont' be offended. But for all intents and purposes, I beat the *main* game without bombs or flashbombs. So I'm otherwise satisfied.
ANYWAY, run comments.
Stage 1: Jun :Heart emoji: (wtf Youtube doesn't allow angle brackets?). This stage 1 is probably the only easy stage 1 in Len'en so savor it. You can manipulate the full power clear to get some score on the midboss non. Nothing much to say about the boss fight as it's pretty trivial. Also, I've decided now that Jun is my favorite len'en character. Haters gonna hate!
Stage 2: The second hardest stage in the game. The midboss actively forces you out of the center so you have to be patient and wait for Shou to LET you damage them.
Shou's main boss fight is one of the hardest parts of the game. They really put Aoji to shame. That first spell is pretty luck based and you're clearly meant to abuse flashbombs on it. But ofc due to the run condition I was forced to bite the bullet there. The second spell is pretty rough because without flashbombs you can't use the side of screen cheese strat so if a squiggly comes towards you just sit still and pray. Third spell is trivial. Last spell has a weird tsubakura exclusive exploit that I learned from riri.
By the way, if you're unable to get through Shou in under 2 misses don't expect to be able to clear. You don't get any extends until stage 3 so you're required to do well on her.
Stage 3: Lumen is basically an insane casino. Hardest boss in the game by far. No questions asked. The midboss spell has way too much HP and good luck not getting a wall in your face with how many waves overlap.
The first non I try to bottom hug and pray. First spell can be done trivially by streaming upwards. The second non is literally luckshit. You can get walled in by the lasers with no escape even if the initial gap you went in was large. It's ridiculous.
The second spell is another roulette. If the bubbles decide to cuck you, you die. No exceptions. The third non is pretty doable but the third spell is quite rough. If you have flashbombs you can cheese it by going through the laser but since I'm not using it I was forced to spin. The bullets are very random and tricky so it's no shame if you fail it.
The last spell is utterly ridiculous as the only viable strategy is to do the card unintended by bottom hugging and praying for good RNG. I suppose the "intended" method was to go in and out in and out with the center but heeeeelll no that's just nope nope nope.
Stage 4: Easy stage portion. Midboss spell just stop shooting to not get walled. Hibaru is pretty easy as their only really difficult attacks are the first non and final spell. Though the final spell has a bit of an exploit as the "walls" are static and you can always go *under* the screen to go through one of them.
Stage 5: This is the second easiest stage/boss in the entire game. No joke. Sukune is surprisingly very nice compared to Kuroji's fight back in EE. You can probably regularly NMNB this fight once you learn it. The only questionable attack I think is the clone spell but even that goes down pretty quickly (and you can damage the clone to end the spell as well!)
Stage 6: Yaraochi is extremely easy compared to Clause. The only really difficult attack I struggle with is the first non as it pretty much requires the use of flashbomb at some point. The second spell is full routing same with the last spell. The other spells are all just random dodging.
As I said I completely blundered tasouken so no comment there.
Also check out Riri's UNB of this game. He provides some really interesting insight with his vocal commentary: youtube.com/watch?v=0JyltRWLeOI
Lastly if you wanna see a tasouken cap watch Jaimers' clear: youtu.be/gA0lA2Umqgc?t=1838
....I actually think I found a pretty viable survival strategy for 12-5 here in the end.
The next part will be the last Double Spoiler Part.

Every once in a while she'll throw a wall at you. Or two. Or Three.
Fortunately, our miko seems adept at handling this.
I think it's really great that ZUN implements his character's abilities within his danmaku patterns. It's like... super meta!

MoTK thread here (which contains a DL link): shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,21498.0.html
Unification of the Artful Rain is a game from Team αlternative Σnding (I had to copy pasta that name) and was made primarily by Akakyu.
It's a pretty interesting game which tries to take in elements not common in ZUN games, such as enemy chaining.
The flow system, which I did not utilize in this run, is the heart of the scoring system, in which you can double your score by getting a bonus depending on your performance. Getting items, grazing, level of the boss. Though you don't get invincibility so you still die if you get hit during it.
You fill the gauge by chaining enemies and getting those little flow droplets which can only be obtained by PoC'ing.
Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised at how balanced this game was. I know balance by itself doesn't necessarily make a good fangame, but it definitely helps.
v0.01a had a few memes here and there but for a fangame, the first draft was insanely strong from a balancing perspective.
The game is also really aesthetically pleasing. It's very apparent that a lot of time and effort was put into making the patterns look beautiful.
Stage 3 boss theme is the best song in the game and I will fight you about it!
That last one... not so much. We already had that type of scene with Shou, wtf ZUN?
Let's finish up the satoris
New photo game hype. Also I have a discord btw that I'm opening up invites to again: discord.gg/jCa4mYw
I used to use DxTory which conveniently records the mic and game audio in a split table file so if one was too quiet I could use Audacity to work magic. With OBS... not so much. But the tradeoff is better quality videos so I'd prefer using OBS to record from here on out.
While the game volume sounded normally to me whilst I was playing, it was actually that my headset was turned to max and OBS was recording it too quietly (and again, the volume mixer had the game turned down which must have been something I did a while back). Normally, I'd have done tests before the recording but I trusted myself too much lmao. Next time, for sure, I'll test.
I could have rerecorded this but I had so much fun during the commentary that I really, really didn't wanna give this one up. Hey, at least it's not the other way around. Having game audio louder than mic audio is, oh boy...
And finally. Will the 1440p memes work this time around? Let's see...
It's kinda like the Reimu fight in ctc where you have sort of a time limit. But considering a blind attempt managed to beat it despite the time limit, it seems to be rather lax which is nice. Either that or the team I'm playing just made it easy. *shrug*
Who knows? Also, I gotta say, some of the themes in this game were rocking. That stage 4 boss theme omg!
...You know what's next. You know what's next. I hear it's even worse. I hear it even has a TLB.
Oh dear...
This definitely seems to be the easiest Unreal 1cc out of the three games so far in my opinion. The game is very generous with resources and I actually didn't even need to practice stages 3 onwards to get by.
Also, haha, I got a bit freaked out by the invisible bullets card. But it looks like it wasn't actually that bad and was pretty fairly designed. Please excuse my panicked banter!
1.I did a recording of this months ago but the sound didn't record so I had to scrap that footage. But since it was months ago and I only did like 1-2 takes, I forgot everything so it's still blind (The fact that I was surprised at the eggplant character should be proof enough lol)
2. I made a few cheeky comments like "you can't dodge anything in a Len'en game" but of course I know that things can be learned, lol. Again, I was just being cheeky.
That being said, this game seems pretty decent from what I've played of it. Looking forward to seeing stage 5 and 6.
I was a bit exhausted today so don't mind the slower commentary in stage 4. Also, I didn't know how this games system worked so I did a lot of rambling about it without understanding it lmao.
One of my mates asked me to try sounding more masculine for this episode, lol. But I forgot I was intentionally doing that at times and then went back to normal on a few parts of this recording :P
Stage 1 - This stage was pretty normal for me. Nothing really out of the ordinary happened iirc.
Stage 2 - Oh boy. I had to bomb three times on the boss. I had failed to move down to the bottom in time (I think the final phase started earlier due to my bomb or something) so I had to bomb again to prevent myself from getting walled. Usually I pass this boss in 2 bombs or 1 bomb if really lucky
Stage 3 - The stage portion went wonderfully! I had basically told myself that because of how bad stage 2 went, I would absolutely not bomb on the 1up section or anything else (as I wanted the two safety bombs for the boss).
I coooould have 1-bombed the boss if I had dodged the purple wall but I decided not to trust that because it was sketchy looking.
Stage 4 - AKA the stage portion I practiced most out of everything (I just really enjoy this stage, it's so fun to play!). I didn't have a bomb for the midboss so I had to gorilla it but fortunately things worked out.... and then I died instantly after the midboss :V
That's not too bad though because it was the first death and I needed bombs for the boss anyway. Dragonfly section went very smoothly! I sure hope so, considering how much I practiced it, lol.
Stage 5 - Oh geez, the stage portion was incredibly embarrassing. I'll admit, I didn't practice this stage as much as I should have. I have the general route for it, but I'm not consistent. Usually you'd want to NMNB the first half of the stage but I was on an urn and did a bunch of weird panicky bombs everywhere since I didn't wanna risk dying with bombs in stock. The first death was just a matter of me not shotgunning the mantis and moving out of the way in time. The second death was mostly because instead of going to the left to dodge, I wanted to be a bit on the right because I was afraid of the mantis firing those purple balls it fires if you don't kill it in time. Unfortunately, when trying to get into the gap I overmoved and ended up moving into the wall (Ack!)
Getting into Aki 2-2 was uncertain. I opted for dodging the first pattern though (I had practiced it recently, and figured out that going to the left or right of the "pointy ends" really helps). I had a particularly bad experience the night before of dying to the final phase with bombs in stock so I got mega paranoid today and double bombed it. Which was definitely not a good idea because it brought me with no bombs into the TLB.
TLB - Since I double bombed Aki I was unable to finish the one phase off where you're normally supposed to bomb after 5 cycles. I mean, that's expected. Getting into the final pattern 1-3 was very tense. I don't do the misdirection strat anymore (it's really not reliable and requires too many resources to use), so I knew I could win, but it would still require not dying more than once. Fortunately, I did manage to get into the opener wave (I had practiced that entrance extensively. Basically what I do is move around a big ball (the third one) in the direction that I'm going to have to inevitably stream. I'm then put into a short safespot and then I can continue to move in the same direction and into the streaming lane. This method was the best one for me as it only requires moving in one direction and if you have it memorized, you can expect and see the bullets well.
I had died too quickly on the second wave though, having two bombs still in stock. At this point I had pretty much thought "the run was over". But through the skin of my teeth, I managed to not fuck up again and finish the attack off 0-0! God that felt so satisfying. Especially since last night I had a run which gameovered on the last possible dodge leading to some pretty salty heartbreak.
The livestream version is here if you want to watch it but bewarned I tend to swear and yell a lot, haha: youtube.com/watch?v=TIZhEqqn064
Man, it feels great to have this clear done. I can definitely say this gave me a really fun and decent challenge and was very refreshing since I had been burnt out playing EoSD a month prior.
Most of my practice time was actually spent on the TLB. I figured that there was no point in learning the rest of the game if I couldn't finish off the run.
Not sure what I'm doing next. I would adore to play Futari but unfortunately it's not on steam and we don't know if it will ever come on steam. I do have an Xbox 360 but unfortunately idk how to work with keyboards on it.
...I'll probably just go back to scoring PCB Lunatic as my main goal. But I did want to take a look at DFK since I got that on a recent steam sale. We'll see.
Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day, night, evening, or morning :U
