TofudogWatch the Vegan vs. Nonvegan Food Tastetest and the corresponding "more" episode (Worst Vegan T-Shirts) with me!
As someone who has been watching Good Mythical Morning since it was Good Morning Chia Lincoln, I consider myself a giant Rhett and Link fan. However, they don't always show veganism in the most favorable light.
It can be downright discouraging watching two people who are usually so smart and kind show such little understanding of veganism, so hopefully watching it together will make it less painful.
If you're a vegan mythical beast too, let me know how you handle it in the comments!

They seemed to really just not want to let go of the fact that they think meat tastes good, but I hope I planted some seeds and gave them something new to think about.
Stick around to the end, where I give a personal reflection about how I did, and what I wish I had done differently. I've found doing this reflection exercise has helped me grow more confident in my outreach, and I also hope it helps inspire people who are hesitant to try, or are also early in their vegan/animal rights outreach journeys.
As always, please let me know in the comments how you would have responded to some of these points! Thanks to everyone who has left a comment on previous outreach videos- hearing different perspectives can be so helpful!

In this very long video, I talk to a political science PhD student who is a big fan of Karl Marx about procreative ethics and veganism. (I didn't do an official count, but a quick text-based search tells me he said "Marx" around 20 times).
I know this video is very long, but I had fun with it and thought I might as well post it, despite its length. If you stick around until the end, you'll get to hear him tell me "it could be worse, you could be out here arguing for something even stupider for even worse reasons." In retrospect, I'm taking it as a compliment.
I'm very curious to hear your thoughts and opinions on this conversation, I personally thought his opinions on veganism were especially callous and strange. Let me know how you'd respond to his ideas, and anything else we covered.

Stick around to the end to hear my reflection about how I did, and what I wish I'd done differently.
While I don't think I did very well in this conversation, I definitely learned a lot and think that overall, this person left with a better idea of what veganism is and I think it was helpful to answer some of her questions about plant-based nutrition.

I found the religious context made it challenging to find common ground to discuss, but nonetheless I found the conversation to be interesting and I think I learned a lot about how to navigate conversations like this in the future.
I'm still learning how to confidently interact with strangers on the street, and also when to choose which points to focus on (for example, I let the pro-life conversation slide - for the record, I am NOT pro-life, I am pro-choice, just in case there was any confusion around that).
Please let me know in the comments what you thought of this conversation, and also if there are any points you would have responded to differently, and if so, what you would have said.

In this video I share my experience including how I managed to get it done, why I did it, and what it's been like since.
As someone who never wanted to have children, I am grateful every day that my body is no longer able to get pregnant. Since the right to abortion is becoming more restricted, and access to contraception might be next, I wanted to share this video because I think that permanent sterilization is an amazing option that more people need to know about. I hope that me sharing my experience is helpful or educational to anyone who might be curious.
The procedures I mention having done in this video: Bilateral Salpingectomy (tubal removal) Endometrial Ablation (scarring the lining of the uterus to reduce menstrual bleeding - doesn't usually work well on people younger than 35)

I found this person to be very thoughtful, and I really enjoyed the conversation we had.
Since this is only my third-ever procreative ethics outreach conversation, I'm still working on refining certain points and making sure I hit certain topics. However, I think that overall, this person has a lot of new things to consider and I hope you find our conversation as interesting as I did.
I wish I had pushed back on the notion of 'there is more good than bad', because I'm not sure this is true and I think it could have led to more interesting conversation. It's something I'll keep in mind for next time.
I'd love to see more people do procreative ethics outreach so we can learn from each other! Let me know if it's something you'd like to do, or have done in the past!

Overall I think this was a great starting point for me. Since filming this video I have learned even more about the history of antinatalism from other sources, and am looking forward to delving deeper into this philosophy.

In this video, I share a conversation I had with an ex-vegetarian who seemed very interested in veganism.
While I wish I had driven a few more points home about how his actions are wrong and contribute to animal exploitation, I hope that this conversation inspired this person to consider veganism more deeply.
In an effort to be less of a perfectionist, I've chosen to upload outreach conversations that I'm not entirely happy with in an effort to inspire other people to give it a shot, track my own growth, hold me accountable, and hopefully provide a space where we can all learn and improve.

By putting myself out there and delving deeper into veganism and the surrounding community and adjacent topics, I've learned that there is a lot of misunderstanding around the vegan movement.
From what veganism actually is, and what it actually isn't, to recognizing that mistakes = learning, and that I'm truly an antinatalist to my core (and this has an impact on my perspective on veganism), I cover five of the most interesting I've learned in my first 6 months on YouTube and being a more active vegan learning to be a better version of myself every day in order to better advocate for the things that are important.

Outro music: Maple Leaf Rag from Kevin MacleodMy Experience with Vegan Airplane Food | Condor and Turkish Airlines Vegan Food ReviewTofudog2023-12-22 | On my recent travels I ate vegan-friendly food options from two different airlines. One was not so good, and the other was surprisingly okay!
As more people adopt veganism, options are becoming more widespread, including airlines. Airline food doesn't have a great reputation, so I was interested to find out what a vegan-friendly airline food may be.
Have you ever eaten vegan friendly food on an airline? What was it like?

In this video I go over a few easy ideas anyone can use (and I mean ANYONE) to make gatherings more bearable.
From simply skipping an event if you know it's going to be a nightmare, to wearing clothing with vegan messaging on it, I've included some of my tried and true methods for bringing your values to the table.
Most of these methods are pretty low confrontation and I think anyone can do them- however, if you're comfortable being even more of an active and vocal advocate for the animals, I always encourage you to bring the best and boldest version of yourself to any situation you're in. You never know what is going to change someone's mind!

PETA has a bit of a controversial reputation - on one hand they have some die hard members, and on the other we have people who swear they’re the worst thing to happen since seed oils. With a reputation that precedes them in almost all spaces, both online and offline, I wanted to find out for myself what is going on with PETA as an organization. Join me in my attempt to inject some more nuance into this highly volatile conversation.
It seems almost impossible to bring up PETA without someone mentioning something unsavory about PETA that they’ve heard (whether or not it’s true - or relevant to the conversation at hand) to invalidate whatever point you may be trying to make. From PETA kills animals and PETA steals animals, to sexism and Steve Irwin, we cover all this and more in this video. For both vegans and non vegans alike, I hope this video gave you some more context on this seemingly age-old discussion and empowers you to do your own research and form more accurate opinions.
I know there are a few topics I missed- I left these out because I think they’re either obviously settled, or they’re simply too old to feel relevant to who PETA are today (also because this video is already long as it is). Feel free to point them out and continue the conversation in the comments!
Let me know in the comments below what your take on PETA is.

One Piece is a manga that features a crew of pirates on their quests to fulfil their dreams. The main character is Luffy, a meat-loving optimist.
We are going to check back in with Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami and Usopp to see how this leg of the journey is going, and take a look at the series through a casually vegan lens. They engage in some bizarre and speciesist behaviors, that contradict the very morals they seem to believe. However, I think vegans can still enjoy non-vegan media, and that showing that vegans are just like everyone else and enjoy things everyone else does too, are an important part of spreading the vegan message.

The gelatin is used to hold the light sensitive silver crystals. This creates an emulsion that is applied to plastic, that is then loaded into a camera.
Unfortunately no films exist on the market today that don’t contain gelatin. Photo prints use the same gelatin emulsion, and therefore photo prints are also unfortunately not vegan!
Check out the full video youtu.be/Kh6U6M_ZdHcThe SAD TRUTH About Film Photography- Everything you need to knowTofudog2023-08-08 | Film photography as an art form and hobby has had a comeback in the last few years, but what a lot of people don’t know, is that it isn’t vegan. Film and all photographic paper uses gelatin, which is a substance that comes from the boiled skin, bones, cartilage, and tendons of slaughtered animals. The light sensitive material is mixed with gelatin and then coated onto the film.
So far, no viable alternatives to gelatin have been discovered, and therefore film photography is not vegan. Additionally, there may be no way to get guaranteed vegan prints. The best alternative is digital photography, and for analog there are still a few options that are vegan. Did you know film wasn’t vegan? What is your favorite way to photograph?

Animals deserve better #govegan #vegan #animalrightsTofudog2023-08-03 | Speciesism is discriminating against somebody because of the species they happen to be.
Abilities, intellect, and skill level vary within and across species. There are animals smarter than some humans, yet we would never treat a human like we do a farmed pig, even if they are equally intelligent and sentient. The only difference is the body they are born into.
We need to learn to see past species and treat all individuals with the dignity and respect they deserve, and that starts with no longer viewing animals as ours to do with as we please. Take the first step and go vegan. :)
Watch the full video on my channel! youtu.be/HEWnDWGUh2cNO, Eating Roadkill is NOT Vegan | Common Misunderstandings about Roadkill and VeganismTofudog2023-07-29 | Is eating roadkill vegan? These animals didn’t die specifically to be food, right? The question of eating somebody’s body when you don’t have to brings up some interesting points about veganism and speciesism, and in this video I explore if it’s ok for vegans to eat roadkill.
Moreover, how responsible are we as individuals for the animals who do end up as roadkill, killed by our cars on the streets that run through their habitats? 2 billion animals die each year as a result of being hit by cars- cars that are driven by humans. The best thing we can do for these animal victims is choose to not have children, and thereby reducing the demand for vehicles to be on the roads, saving more animals from death on the roads.
How responsible do you feel for roadkill? What do you think of the link between not having children/lowering the human population for the sake of the animals?

I purchased, tested, and reviewed the Fossil Kier crossbody cactus leather bag on my quest to find and spread the word about good animal skin leather alternatives. Cactus leather is a vegan, cruelty free, sustainable alternative to animal skin leather, and is said to be durable and last up to 10 years.
THIS VIDEO IS NOT SPONSORED BY FOSSIL
Having good alternatives for animal products is an important part of the vegan movement, as we work to coax people away from the products they’ve used their whole lives. Finding alternatives to animal skin leathers that are as durable and long lasting could be a big step in reducing demand for this type of animal product.

Should vegans call themselves plant based? Is anyone even using the word correctly?
