The inspiration came from this after finally deciding to read The Language of Thorns on a whim and I just fell in LOVE with Ulla and her story + Zoe Kravitz as her fancast. (whoever came up with this is a genius and I need to kiss you gfhgk) If you haven't read Ulla's story (When Water Sang Fire) it's basically a Little Mermaid retelling (Ulla as Ursula) and she meets a young Darkling and finds out they're brother and sister. This is my own AU that takes place around Ruin & Rising where they reuinite after The Darkling "returns" and basically join forces and ascend to power. Anything with young long-haired Ben is meant to be flashbacks when they first met. The endingg is when he shows her the mirror and realizes they're related. I approached Laura about a collab about a week ago since I fell in love with her videos. She has such an effortless, simple, and mesmerizing editing style. I've always wanted to collab but never found another editor whose style I thought would mesh well with mine, until Laura. We decided to do something ~aesthetic~ for the first time and incorporate book quotes. There are no TASM2 spoilers btw I'd rather wait to get an HD copy.I started this after I did a TASM rewatch and it just reminded why I love the character so much and specifically Andrew's interpretation of it. He's just a boy with the weight of the world on his shoulders who lost his family too young but still believes in good and chooses to fight for it rather than against it. As Andrew said at Comic-Con in 2011:"Stan Lee says that the reason why Spidey is so popular is because all of us can relate to him, and I agree. I needed Spidey in my life when I was a kid, and he gave me hope.
