This clip remains the sole property of Moja Love TV (DSTV Channel 157) and represents an extract from Zodwa Wabantu's reality TV show, "Zodwa Uncensored".

On the latest installment of her show Zodwa Wabantu issued a formal statement of apology. This comes after discussions and sensitisation from Iranti, her friends, and various other stakeholders, and we thank and applaud Zodwa for taking the time to learn about why her remarks were harmful, and accept that she was wrong in this matter.

The channel on which the programme airs, Moja Love Tv, has previously issued a statement on the matter, as has Iranti.

We hope that this incident will prove to be a learning experience for all who hold public platforms and are ignorant of the issues facing LGBTI+ persons. We hope that media in South Africa can be increasingly used to raise awareness and sensitise the nation, rather than act as a tool to spread hate.

For more background on the debacle, read our statements on the matter here: http://www.iranti.org.za/2019/07/11/dstvs-moja-love-channel-issues-a-statement-on-zodwa-wabantus-comments/
