Russia is famous for its amazing cars. Everyone wants to buy himself a Lada, a Niva or a mighty Volga. But now Russian automotive industries presents another competitor that will smash Tesla and all other electric cars. A small and cheap city electric vehicle called Zetta is ready to conquer the world as it will be the cheapest EV with the cost of 7000$ only. But are you ready to buy it?
Zetta, which will be manufactured by Russian Engineering and Manufacturing Сompany (REMC), will be the first Russian electric car. It could run at up to 120km/h with a range of around 200 kilometers. The company will start production with an annual capacity of 15,000 units a year. The retail price for the Zetta electric car would be around $7,000, which would make it the cheapest of its class in the world, on par with other sub-$10,000 models such as Renault City K-ZE and Ora R1. The $7,000-price-candidate is 3.04 m long, 1.60 m wide, 1.60 m tall and has a 2 m wheelbase. The company reported that its a four-seater, but it is just 34 cm longer than a Smart Fortwo. According to Denis Schurovsky the Zetta CEO, all wheels are connected to a single management system that simulates electric ABS and ESP with high recuperation capability. Zetta plans to show the car in November and to start production in December.
