Check out this early game Zero-Tick Farm that doesn't need any sticky pistons or observers! Zero-Ticking is a great way to get a lot of crops produced fast and in a small space, but early game it can be tricky to set one up because you usually need to have some slime balls for sticky pistons and some nether quartz for some observers... but not any more. This early game zero-tick farm can be set up without using any components that need slime balls (no sticky pistons required!) and nothing that needs quartz to craft either (no observers or comparators!). The flashing redstone is not great for your world long term because it can cause lag, but if you are in the phase of the game where you don't have any sticky pistons or observers, you probably are not stressing the game out to much anyways. It is recommended that you replace the flashing redstone with an observer clock when you do find your way into the nether.
