A summary video of Project HyFlyer I, produced alongside project partners EMEC and Intelligent Energy. From our world-first flight last September, through more than 35 test flights, to the development of the airport refueling system, the project has been an enormous success, hitting all of the technical goals.
The key learnings are now being applied as part of HyFlyer II, the second project backed by the UK Government (big thanks to BEIS, Innovate UK and the ATI!), targeting the development of a certifiable hydrogen-electric powertrain that can power airframes carrying up to 19 passengers. With the arrival of the Dornier 228 last week, more exciting milestones await.
