Your first time playing Ocarina of Time, remember that moment you rushed into the gorgeous Hyrule Field and could truly feel a huge dynamic world wrap around you. Suddenly the gate closes, you're too late, and the monsters come out. The first night of this game felt like the most white-knuckled insane scramble to survive and the music of course complemented every facet of those fights. Battle, as it is simply titled, is every inch progressive as it is intense and fits right into my arranging style. I wanted to take those polyrhythmic stabs and translate it into something groovy, while taking the song to a few new places as the battle gets more exciting. There's at least 3 other Zelda songs I placed in the arrangement and one other tune I referenced in the solo, but most of all I'm just so darn happy with covering Ocarina of Time music. The video is also edited in a more matured, harsh sharp approach that I feel would be a much better format for my heavier music. Enjoy, and let me know what you think!
Many of you might have heard a much simpler/rougher version on the Pixel Mixers community Zelda album (reddit.com/r/VGCovers to check them out) but I ended up waiting so long in that time that I tabled it til I could really produce it perfectly.
