Zeitraffer als perfektes Baustellenupdate:
UPM Biochemicals baut die weltweit erste Bioraffinerie in Leuna, Sachsen-Anhalt. Hier wird aus aus nachhaltig erwirtschaftetem Laubholz Biochemikalien zur Fertigung von recyclingfähigen Alltagsgegenständen und Materialien gewonnen. Diese ermöglichen eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen, darunter Textilien, Kunststoffe, Gummi, Kosmetika und Medikamente, und reduzieren deutlich sowohl den Verbrauch fossiler Rohstoffe wie auch CO2-Emissionen.
UPM`s erneuerbaren Bio-Monoethylenglykole (BioMEG) dienen als Basismaterial für die Herstellung von PET Flaschen, Verpackungsmaterialien, Textilien aus Polyester und Kühlmitteln.
Hergestellt werden komplett neuartige Biochemikalien für die erneuerbaren Füllstoffe Bio-Monoethylenglykol (BioMEG), Bio-Monopropylenglykol (BioMPG) und holzbasierte Funktionsfüllstoffe (RFF).

The new facility strengthens nuclear safety and environmental monitoring capabilities and serves as one of Bavarias two major radiation protection laboratories. The center plays a key role in the monitoring and measurement activities related to the decommissioning of nuclear power plants.
