Small errors by Cranston, Curry, Kubicka and a host of others left the way clear for Yuri and a clean skate to win the short program at the 1975 Worlds in Colorado Springs, just as he had earlier in the season at the 1975 Europeans where he earned his only major international ISU medal; a bronze behind Curry and Vladimir Kovalev in Copenhagen.
Thanks to my great friend John who preserved this footage for all these years. I have uploaded this by request and hope the Russian fans will enjoy finally being able to see this great performance. Single axels don't come much better than this!
