Adol eventually reaches the control room with no more major obstacles, and uses Stoker's bracelet as instructed by Orwell. The energy of the Philosopher's Stone and Contract Bracelet begin to react, and Adol suddenly finds himself in the diverted flow of time itself. Stoker meets him there, explaining the effect of the bracelet, and asks Adol of one last favor before he disappears.
Meanwhile, Massea, Orwell and Stein manage to evacuate every citizen in the city to the Gate of Kefin leading to the remains of Kefin in the physical world (the desert oasis). Massea convinces Orwell to leave finding Niena up to her and Stein, and the two decide to check the castle, the only remaining place she could be.
Adol finds himself at the shrine of the Lumen Crystal in Foresta Cave, though somewhat different. Soldiers are found hunting an alchemist down in the caves, and after fighting through them comes to the altar of the Lumen Crystal. There, Stoker is seen holding off the remaining soldiers protecting Foresta and the Lumen Crystal, a repeat of their tragic fate. Adol quickly comes to his aide, dispatching of Stoker's attackers before himself fading away and leaving the bracelet behind. Both safe, Stoker and Foresta are curious as to who it was that saved them, but nevertheless are grateful beyond words.
Adol arrives back in the present and runs into Massea outside of the control room. Learning Niena and the Ibur Gang are most likely still in the castle, Captain Rizze makes her re-appearance to confirm their suspicions, explaining that they are to be used as sacrifices to the Philosopher's Stone. Massea tries to intervene, but Rizze threatens her and Adol before retreating to where the Philosopher's Stone truly rests. Despite her warning, Adol quickly gives chase for the sake of his companions.
