Continuing the scale the tower, Yunica comes to another door requiring and emblem to open. Inside, a grotesque statue overlooks the stairwell to the next floor, and upon Yunica's entrance the creature inside sheds its facade and attacks.

Not too much more difficult than Velagunder, but Nygtilger can easily become more difficult to manage if you aren't careful (though coincidentally its Ys I counterpart is only the other spectrum of difficulty compared to Velagunder).

Nygtilger initially snakes around the column in the middle of the arena, firing bolts of lightning down at certain intervals in its wake. The target for the fight is breaking all of the segments on its back, and Yunica's Bolt Crash can reach it while its crawling along the column. While crawling around, it will also begin dropping orbs which pulsate and eventually burst open, leaving a lingering field that can not only hurt you but cause poison.

Eventually it will come down to the ground and crawl around in an attempt to attack directly. It sparingly uses the lightning, but more threatening is being constantly aware of where its head is. Being a centipede, Nygtilger can fold in on itself in a rather disgusting display in order to either attack directly with a bite or, if it has you in its line of sight, fire a VERY powerful streak of lightning from its mouth. Staying on its back to attack the segments can become a visual challenge as it crawls over itself to attack you while continuing to drop the exploding orbs in greater frequency, so jumping off or moving away to regain a sense of focus may be necessary. It's very easy to get hit by a stray explosion or lightning bolt, but avoiding anything that comes directly from its head is most important in this phase. Whirlwind is useful both for attacking multiple segments and for movement, so staying on its back and behind its head as much as possible is a bit easier with its use.

Eventually after taking down most of its back segments, Nygtiler with latch onto its tail-end and form a giant wheel, cycling around the arena 3 times while emitting a demonic energy. Along with his lightning streak this is its strongest attack, though its definitely a bit easier to see coming. The arena has 3 levels of "depth", so you simply have to move as far away from the last level of "depth" Nygtilger rolled over on its last pass-by since it constantly adjusts to your position. It leaves behind a trail of flames and even more exploding orbs in its wake, so some lateral movement will also be necessary to avoid getting stuck in a bad place.

After all of the plates are gone, its head is exposed and it can be taken down once and for all. The exploding orbs reach their maximum density at this point, but normal attacks or Whirlwind should be fine for getting rid of them more occasionally since it no longer goes back into wheel form. Overall an interesting boss that relies on the gross visual presentation to work against you, keeping focus and clearing the field as much as possible are key to success.

The demonic insect defeated, Yunica makes her way to the next floor, the Guilty Fire. Very near the entrance she finds Miuscha surrounded by a group of strong demons. Springing into action Yunica is able to fend them off, and Miuscha explains the accident which led her to this floor alone.

She also comments that she sighted and begun following Lady Feena before getting cornered, information that is overheard by a mysterious man with claws that confronts the two ladies. Being from the opposing party searching for the Goddesses, he leaves the two be in exchange for the information and goes to report to his superiors. Eager to find Feena and make up for her slip of the tongue, Yunica also forges onward through the hellish tower floor in a race against time.
