. I discuss most of the common pet peeves surrounding the #1 video sharing site on the Internet.
1. Making 'silent' tutorials with picture slideshows or using notepad. It would be easier writing a step-by-step guide with pictures that can be printed on a website.
2. Overuse of annotations. Annotations are helpful, but don't spam them over the video.
3. RIP Headphones. Loud, obnoxious, unwanted sounds in a video.
4. Background music. Dreamscape anyone?
5. Really low volume. If we have to turn the dial up to 11 to hear, the audio is too quiet.
6. Audio/Video quality: If the audio is badly distorted and/or the video is pixelated with a low framerate, either the video rendering isn't good or the capture device needs an upgrade.
7. Vertical videos: I don't think this needs an explanation.
8. Youtube's social network: 'First' comments, fighting in the comments, not reading the description and 'sub for 'sub' posts.
9. Viewcount vs. likes/dislikes: A new video undergoes a content-ID check for third-party content. Also a limit of 301 views is set as a means of validating viewership as to prevent the video from rising in search due to using a video bot. However, this doesn't apply to the like/dislike counter.
10. Recording TVs/Monitors: Just a bad idea in general. The video and audio will not turn out well and without a tripod, camera shaking becomes irritating to some.
11. Comments and ratings disabled on videos intended for discussion: Some videos are intended to promote discussion of a topic the video is talking about. However, the ratings and comments are disabled thereby hindering the point.
12. Copying videos: It's not uncommon when a new video that goes viral starts being copied by other users and reuploaded to drive traffic to their channel. Other users will creatively copy a video instead and claim that's 'original'. _
