Cardiogram Suite - Remixer Commentary
This one is the big one.
I was very much unsure if tackling the Cardiogram tracks was the right move, but me and a friend got such a good idea that it would’ve been a waste not to do it. A while back, a friend showed me how unbelievably great most of the songs from Who wants to be A Millionaire are, and I couldn’t agree more, a thing we both liked is how each time the question gets more intense, the key goes up a half step, which helped create tension and intensity, so I decided I wanted to do the same thing for the many many different variations of the Cardiogram.
We start off slow, in the regular key of C, I didn’t really do much for this one to be honest, I played a melody which I thought I could interpolate in interesting ways and across a variety of different instruments.
After that we reach the second section which is in C# Minor, I loved the idea of the Majority Rules strings playing in the background so I managed to isolate the parts and spread them to each ear, that drum playing in the background is a very edited Tabla btw.
Next we get the Climax, which is my favorite. It is very much unapologetically inspired by another murder game soundtrack, but I tried to give it my own unique touch, I hope I succeeded!
The two next sections aren’t noteworthy by themselves, they just create more intensity and help with the buildup to the eventual second Climax, which returns to the original; key of C Minor to encapsulate the sheer scope of the track.
The two remaining section play in Chapter 3-1B, Since this is a game with Meister and Midori, I thought it would be fitting to insert their leitmotifs as well (in the first and second sections respectively) Going into a more jazz influence was mostly because I thought it fit the tone of the Chapter a bit better, since the subgame does have a flair for the dramatic.

Your Turn To Die Remixed is a playable music mod that I’ve been working on for over a year, it is compatible with both the Steam and non-Steam releases of the game, and features 16 arrangements of some of the songs in the soundtrack. These arrangements are meant to work (and loop) in tandem with the existing and pre-established soundtrack, building on its leitmotifs and overall style and expanding on their compositional and production front.

I really liked Spooky’s Jumpscare Mansion, I thought it was a delightful little game, but it left me wanting to have my own little spin on the soundtrack, so I decided to give it a fresh coat of paint! (or in this case, sound.) I hope you all enjoy it!

Anyway, like that lyric from that one song, I hate Specimen 10 with a burning passion, because it was the most effective specimen out of all of them for me. On my playthrough of the game it was the most persistent among all of the other specimen. Playing the waiting game with this god forsaken parasite made me lose my mind (on one attempt I died at room 975!) Obviously the main inspiration for this theme was the main theme for The Thing, among John Carpenter’s other compositions. I wanted the player to feel as though this Specimen was unstoppable, similar to the pressure I felt during Specimen 7’s main event.
